Power corrupts and absolute power is kinda neat.

I want a new video card but I'm running an old card and i know some of these newer cards are longer and want to make sure it will fit in the case.

case:  HEC 6C28BBX585 Black Steel ATX Mid Tower Computer Case 585W Power Supply

Dimensions 17.1'' x 7.5'' x 16.1''

Motherboard:    ASUS P5L-MX LGA 775 Intel 945G Micro ATX Intel Motherboard

Dimensions 9.6" x 8.0"

with a 8800GT card

i have to order the case yet and i can't find how long the card is.  what ya think, will it fit?

AXLE NVIDIA® GeForce® 8800GT size: 9 inches (W) X 4.736 inches (H)

Hope this helps.

My case dimensions are    • 22.9" (H) x 8.4" (W) x 20.2" (D) but I did find a good amount of room inside for a few GTX280's. The GTX280's are pretty much same size as the 8800's are.

If you are wanting to keep the card cool then I would get a bigger case if they are cramped inside you can have airflow issues and they will overheat if not maintained and cleaned out from dust etc.
