I haven't seen much talk about the "chicken" punishment since the NDA has lifted. I have been on both sides of it and it is VERY cool! I had a high level Chosen (13 in and area where 11 is max) try to jump me and **poof**, he was a chicken. You could tell he didn't know it was gonna happen either! haha I chased him all around...not trying to kill him...just scare the hell out of him....but yeh, I finally grew bored and whacked him. Ahhhh the fun when a lowbie can prevail for once!

Now, I was on the unfortunate end as well. I was level 11 and near hitting 12. I was minding my own business just exploring near a zone portal. I saw a named white wolf and killed it. Just as I did and was recovering, a level 9 Witch attacks me. I killed her but just as I did and she fell dead, I leveled and **poof** I was chicken-fied. Crap! I had to find my way out of the zone pronot hoping not to run into any enemy players. It was a haul too! So yeh....watch out for that...even when you are being good, you can get "disarmed".

I think Mythic did a great job with this mechanic. It will sure put a stop to griefers and gankers in the low areas.

Certainly sounds good to me, flips the situation around, The gankers are now the ganked, not too bad. Besides, whats worse than hitting the max level, going to the lowest zone possible, only to be one-shotted by someone barely past the 10s?

What I'm wondering about though, is if it shows the level of the player when he is turned into a chicken? Like if a 20 went into that area, would it say he was a lvl20 chicken, or what?

It is a fun system, I enjoyed my first time, after taking a battlefield objective I dinged level 12 and turned into a chicken.  so I jumped around a bit with my group, helped chase a destruction away and then moved on to tier 2, was all around funny.

"A world which has to create its own justice is a world without hope."

The chicken idea has some flaws though.  ToK for one.  You will be prevented from completing some stuff in any lower tiered RvR area, when you're automatically flagged and turned into a chicken.

this may be true, but I'll take that over lowbie ganking any day.

And again, this goes back to my other post where Mythic has done a good job in discouraging Power Levelers as well. You rush through and miss something, it's YOUR fault. Nice job, Mythic.

Though this "downside" was mentioned in the beta forums. The talk was that there will not be many things in the RvR areas that you need to complete for your ToK. There will be many that require you to go through and around those RvR areas though so you best be VERY careful when doing so if you can be "chicken-fied".
