A long interview video has been released.  Erling now says "of course it wasn't perfect" a few times... FINALLY.  I guess he won't explain why he thought it was perfect before but meh PR guys will never admit to past mistakes.

Anywho it's a good watch if only to see Erling eat some humble pie.  The rest of the info is vaporware until it actually gets in the game.

Oh and the interviewer might as well have been giving them a hummer.  I want to see Funcom grilled by someone who actually cares about how they screwed us:

Erling Ellingsen:

"Trust me we read ALL the forum posts and everything, eh, ah... we really know what the players are complaining about - and rightfully so complaining ofcourse."

Basically EE is saying that the "trolls" and "haters" where right all along. This quote was about memoryleaks and performance but also connected to badly implemented PvP, lack of content, horrible class balance, exploits, invisible walls.

Didn't think he would do it but it is in line with Funcoms new approach to their customers. All that was needed for them to wake up where 90% loss of xfire players, 50% cancelled subs after a little more than 30 days and stock that has hit an all time low.

Another quote from the other guy in the interview: "Umm... yes theres a lot of issues with the classes right now we know that. Some of the issues suprised us, we didnt detect them during beta. Ummmm you dont always get the feedback that you are looking for during beta."

Hehe, they admit that their beta phase was a failure :)

This is amazing coming from Failcom. Either the denial is wearing off or the drugs (probably cant afford the good drugs he was taking anymore) lol

Seems maybe thye finally figured out that the truth will set you free. So much of the negativity revolves around the lack of truth.

Well they still have like 400k-450k subs playing still with major issues to be fixed which is actually pretty impressive. Seems like the diehards really like the game and want it to succeed. I think if they can fix alot of stuff within 6 months they can bring back alot of players who left. Though I think the downside to that is the fact that there is just going to be better and more polished games heading our way such as WOTLK, Mines of Moria expansion and perhaps WAR. We'll just have to keep an eye on Funcom in the meantime I think.

You need to take into account all the people that have wuit since end of July and anyone that had payed for 3months sub ends this week also. Add to that the people that bought a 6 month sub and canceled bu still show up as active.

On top of all that many quilds are leaving to go to Warhammer so dont be too sure the 415k of players is a real number. Its more of a very hopeful number on Failcoms part to try and satisfy investors.

I wish Failcom would be forced to show real numbers as of Sept 1 which would be way lower than the 415k they pulled out of a hat LOL. Everyone knows you cant loose 50% of your customers one month and hold steady the next month and a half with the massive disgust peole have with the game and company behind it.

Hah i cant beleive how quickly they have changed their tune. Months and months of marketing garbage beefing up the game, and now the reality. Our game sort of sucks, were sorry and were doing everything we can to fix it..... sorry!

Guess having to go public with your company's financial report will even change EE's tune.

I beleive there is already news of an expansion.... one would hope the original game is fixed and all the content holes plugged before anything like this goes ahead.

Actually it would seem FC instanced themselves to death. To have this many subs, it's the deadest world I've played in sometime.

Seems like a handful on at any given time.
