It is unpopular because it is stupid, it is a horrible idea. Rid the beta of valuable testers so people who are purchasing the game can get more free time in? Yeah, let us remove people who know how Mythic works, how to give proper feedback, and how to get the most out of testing in favor of people who know little of the process. What also makes you think the people in beta haven't purchased the CE as well and such? It is just a lousy idea and it horrible for the development of the game. Not only this, but you should just be happy there is an open beta or a preview weekend. Especially the preview weekend, it is just nice on their behalf to do such a thing, they never had to do it and preview weekends have not become the standard.

But people like those of you who mindlessly call me an idiot, without coming up with a solution yourselves, are exactly the type of people that will retard the change and evolution of this genre of game.  It is because you demand nothing and accept everything that so many of these games keep in the same moldings that they have in the past.  So little change outside of the superficial aspects of the game. I hope you do not allow this self-destructive, fellow-man-abusing cowardly behavior pass over into your real lives, but hope seems to be all I have for you. 

How many of you offered a solution to my problem?  How many had anything constructive to say?  I understand now that, because of a very (and I mean very) small percentage of you have suggested that it would be developmental "suicide" to get rid of experienced, quality beta testers that clearing them off of the game, especially when testing vital end-game content for those who are fresh off of the line, without any technical experience at that. 

So I understand more now, but as far as the rest of you, know that you will never gain anything good from your methods.

What you are asking is stupid beyond words,you want testers that have helped build the game out so new ppl should be allowed in,I mean I cant even put into words how crazy that sounds.

You go into your company 1 day and your boss says to everyone"ok guys thanks for building the company and we are doing great but you are all fired we want new people in to make it fair"

You should really read what you quote.  I admitted that my proposal was flawed, based on the information input by people who have content with their posts. 

Do you expect people to sign a petition that the original petitioner openly admits is flawed?

lol, this can't be a serious post. Your reward comes after you actually pay for it and after it's released. Anything else before that is just luck of the draw I guess. They didn't have to let anyone at all play before release.

If Mythic would have guaranteed everyone a substantial amount of time in beta and then not delivered your complaining could be justified. Here, however, they never designated a specific amount of time (as they themselves would rather not promise something then not deliver) but instead left it to the consumer to come up with a conservative estimate as to the time they would receive based on news from the company and the history of other mmo's.

In this case I really have to refer to the tired cliche, "Don't look a gift-horse in the mouth".  Feed it to your squig instead :D

What do you FINANCIAL SUPPORTERS of this company say?  Will you sign this petition for change?  If you do, please leave a reply to show as proof of your feelings!

 

You know what will be ironic? YOU actually get into the preview weekend, now that would be something laugh at.
