I've played many, many MMOs and games. Funcom is grossly incompetent and one of the worst in history, if not the worst. I will never give them another penny again. They are manipulative, dishonest, and the worst. I will laugh out loud and do the robot on cardboard for a full 2 minutes when they go bankrupt.

Players: "Errr... so what's new about it?"

FC: "Oh... well that's simple. When we considered the amount of content we failed to implement for the original launch, we realized, "Hey, there's easily enough here to warrant an expansion pack. Why not do that... Just finish up what we'd originally promised in the game and release that. Then we can have our PR go spin happy and run with it..."

Players: "So... you're charging us - again - for content we were supposed to get in the first place"

FC: "Well... it is alot of content... You don't expect us to just *give* it to you, now do you? (incredulous laugh)"

Players: "Well... then it's not really an expansion.. You're trying to milk us"

FC: "Of COURSE it's an expansion, silly player... It's a new box.. new artwork... different bullet points... It's a whole new package. What would you call it?"

Player: "A re-release"

Another Player: "A rip-off"

FC: "Hmm..." -Players Banned-

Fanboys, in unison: "HOORAY!!!"

FC: "Now then... where were we? Ahh yes... Announcing our first retail expansion! All new content!..."

Well funcom obviously can't keep subscriptions up on such a shitty game. They make the money off the initial purchase of the box, so by making the expansion it will luer newer people into buying both the original and the expansion before they can even test the shitty game out. It is brilliant.

Sorry but you are comparing two totally different things here dude. The entire NDA is removed, the elder testers are just separate. Anything a person would want to know can be answered by beta testers currently. T1-T4 content.

The elder testers ,core testers what ever you want to call them , Can't say anything about what they've seen. That's my point , Why so defensive about a fact ? you would think I said Warhammer sucks because AOC sucked ,I didn't . It just worries me, Not to mention no mass testing of anything past tier 2 .

AOC was worse in the secrecy department that's obvious , however I've never joined an open beta that I couldn't play the whole game in .

I asked about endgame and was told only elders know anything about that and they can't answer those questions.Then the thread was drowned in a thousand this is the best game EVA!!! posts .Pardon me for letting people know what I was told.

Again we can play with the semantics however we want, but the fact is that personally I am seeing a pattern. Yes, mythic is way more open about it, and there is tons of more material floating arround but still, they are not alowing players into the majority of the game and they have a closed part of the beta inspite everything they said, the NDA is only partially down.

Not saying at all that WAR will be good or bad, in fact I think it will probably be good, but I'm amazed at the amount of players who didn't learn anything from the horrid way AOC turned out and they are already flocking in masses pre-ordering WAR, rushing to give their money away before they know what they are buying - really - no wonder the game companies keep shafting us gamers - we fully support it with a smile!

I will definitely try out WAR, my interest is sparked, but I certanly learned my lesson and I'm not paying for anything anyone says its there. I'm going to sit it out and wait for a couple of months and see how it turns out, not because I can't afford it, but because I refuse to support any more half baked products with my money.

AOC had raving good reviews everywhere across the net so I'm not betting a single dime on any info floating arround untill the dust settles a bit.

Your post is the mirror image to my thoughts about this. ,I think I'm just sticking to indie titles for now on TBH .

I may or may not check out WAR , I was a fan of DAOC , So I have a bit of faith in mythic, not enough to blindly spend any more cash on crap though.The last MMO I really played before AOC was SWG , I couldn't bring myself to buy another one after that for quite a long time , I played eve but that wasn't a 50$+ purchase(a tad different IMO).

Purchasing AOC was pretty much the nail in the coffin for me.

Now they want me to spend more money on broken nonexistent content .

The expansion pack will come sooner than later.  Funcom will need something to give a plausible foundation to its future revenue predictions.

No way the few people still in denial about Failcom can make the cost of this viable, but hey it's Failcom and making a profit seems to mean nothing to them LOL.

A $6 million loss in q2 (launch sales included) and lowest stock price since going public says alot about a company.
 

Hehe, there seems to always be something to hate, last week it was SOE now it's Funcom, guess it's more fun to hate then to like something.

Now I'm not saying that I like or disslike Funcom (or SOE) I don't like lot's of promises that don't being held either.

AoC must have burned out part of your retina since they only use shades of brown, white, green and blue LOL.

You guys need to understand that this isn't about the customers, it's about selling castle of air to their investors. The typical investor isn't a gamer. They'll see the polished 20 first level, not understanding what the big deal is about sieges, pvp, DX10. They are constantly kept in the future (expancion AoC, TSW, cheap browser mmo's). Funcom still have millions in reserve adn will probably stay alive for years to come.

I find it funny how all the AoC fans want Warhammer to fail because their game is a joke.

Waiting to see later on more fleshed out features of this expansion pack.

Namely, if this expansion pack's "NEW FEATURES!!!11!!" were supposed to be in the original game to begin with!

The catch is that they'd want you to PAY for the "newly added" content and fixes.
