Pay to play, don''t pay to replay!

Dear Atysians,

Recently we opened the game to every single account for free and removed all restrictions on Unlimited Free Trial accounts making them truly "unlimited". Since then everyone who ever had an account and wasn't banned has been able to come and play and we've been very gratified to see so many people enjoying themselves on Atys.

Of course we've not failed to notice the large number of people who have just learnt about Ryzom recently and can't wait to sign up and join everyone else. The next step in our "testing phase" is for all these people; starting right now we have opened account creation for a limited number of free accounts! If you don't have a Ryzom account already, hurry and sign up; this will only be possible for a short time because there's a limited number of accounts to be created across all three communities! If you already play and know some people who don't then tell them to come sign up and join you absolutely free.

http://www.ryzom.com/en/download_game.html

All accounts created during this stage will be able to access the entire game like everyone else, totally free. We're going to allow more free accounts in stages; what we mean by this is that first we'll allow a set number of new accounts to be made, and then one this limit is reached we'll wait a little while and allow some more, and so on. This means that you shouldn't worry if there are no accounts available when you try; keep coming back again later and maybe there'll be some more! Don't miss this opportunity to experience the wonderful planet Atys and everything it has to offer, because once the final limit is reached you won't be able to create an account in this stage. Remember that all old accounts are still able to connect and play for free as well, so if you ever had an account before; get to it!

Please note however, that we are still in a "testing phase" so you cannot reactivate old unsubscribed accounts yet. This means that your old accounts won't be able to access the forums or the CeB chat even though you can play the game normally. If you have any problems accessing the game, please check the Support Page for instructions.

We hope to see you all on Atys enjoying yourselves soon!

The Ryzom Team.

Bitefight links are not referalls, they are the way to gain xp in the game.

Ok noob question here lol, My wife and I played ryzom for awhile, but since then neither of us can remember our username and password, where can I recover both for the game, as I think the username and pw were different for the forumns if i remember correctly, I really want to jump in again, we both do, but lacking both our username and password we cant, any link on the ryzom site would be most helpful where we could recover that info somehow.

Thank you in advance

when you have a bitefight link to your vampire to bite people the mods will warn you it is a referall link, it is not a referall, it is the way you get xp in the game by bighting people

ROFL my buddy pulled a fake slip because he wanted to go home and get to a party thta was going on, but unfortunatley his employers called an ambulance and he spent the rest of the day in the ER gettig checked out for work related injuries that he totally faked, LOL ruined his whole day.

1. Congrats, and welcome!

2. Take your time on the starter island, read the full text of the tutorial missions, then stop and read it again. If you don't understand something, ask in Universe channel, where you will get prompt and friendly help. Ryzom's game mechanics are richer than most, so it takes some time and effort to understand things, though it's usually easy enough to get started with the basics. 18 months on I'm still learning, though, and a long way from knowing all. Do all of the tutorial missions, you won't regret the time you put into it.

3. Don't be fooled by the tutorial missions into thinking the rest of the game will be similar. It's not. After the tutorials are over, the hand holding stops. (at least, the developer-created hand holding... the players will continue to help) There are precious few missions to do once you leave the starter area. That's when you enter the "sandbox" and will be free to find your own things to do, and be eaten by scary animals. No mandatory quest chains or repetitive "storyline" here.

4. Talk. Meet people, and get to know them. If you need help, ask. Help people when you are able. When you find people you like to hang around with, join a guild. You have the freedom to play solo, but if you do you'll miss out on the best part of the game. The other players are your friends, not your enemies. (Even in PvP, keep that in mind.)

5. Wear jewelry as soon as you can get some. (Jewelry can have stat bonuses, which will help you immensely.)

6. Approach this with a little bit of RP attitude - you are entering an alien world where you will have to learn quickly and be creative and hard-working, not stepping on a thrill ride with a pre-determined outcome.

7. This one is just my personal opinion, FWIW. Don't get in a hurry to level up your first skills. There are ways you can rush through the process, but you will just become a "high-level noob" with skills you don't know how to use properly.

When you get to the mainland, there are consumable items called "Experience Catalyzers" or just "cats". They will double your experience gain. Some people get very uptight about having them available. I say, don't worry about using them. If you feel like you need to get experience faster, they will certainly do that, but a good team with someone who knows how to do things will help more than cats, and you will learn more player skill as well. Personally, I only use cats for crafting, and not always then. Others have sworn them off altogether. OK, soapbox mode off.

P.S. 8. Introduce yourself on the game forums. It's a great place to meet people you might not ever see in game due to timezones or such.

be carefull... it's a very dangerous breath of fresh air, not only might it give you sleepless nights sitting behind a computer screen, but also might your character die lots of horrible deaths...

(compared to other games; the game is hard, soloing is possible, but taking on a mob of the same level might kill you most of the time ;) )
