I think the things that are affecting the polls is the fact the Surge worked which is something Obama has always opposed and McCain always supported.  Ontop of this the debate has shifted to the economy and energy.  On the economy I think people are shaky on the fact Obama has shown no real plan to help the economy and his presidency is poised to throw us worse in debt and pay more taxes, while McCain has been doing something since January.  With Energy, Obama's plan was to pay people to create alternative fuels and to make sure your tires are inflated.  Thats all he has said about it.  McCain since the offset of his campaign has probably been the most pro-energy candidate.  Saying he will offer rewards for better capaciters, visiting solar panel plants, investing in alternative forms of energy, more Nuclear Power, and is for offshore drilling.

On the issues in the country right now, McCain is definetly the leader.

Functionless Art is Simply Tolerated Vandalism...

Nice to see another mainstream media outlet practicing a little "fair and balanced." I'm sure McCain will make a fine president who will continue with the work of our Lord George Bush.

If you think one poll determines an election you're an idiot

Considering the election statistics so far...I would say, we'll find out the worth of polls later.  We seem to have a very uncanny ability to defy the odds, even those that WE create.

Oh, and by the way.. http://www.pollster.com/polls/us/08-us-pres-ge-mvo.php.

Reuters is one poll .At the same time, a new Q-poll has Obama up five, Gallup has him up three (after being tied a couple of days ago), Ras has him up two, as does Bloomberg/Times.

Exactly...sort of like if you ask someone for the time, you could get answers ranging 10 minutes off the actual time.  Polls sample from a small selection of people in the hopes of being representative of the whole population.  Unfortunately, it seems this isn't working when different polls get widely different results.

But in all honesty, if you use the polls to decide who to vote for...I feel sorry for you.  They are meant to be a way to show the current trend of the public as either motivation or warning, but not as a "You need to vote for this guy so you can say your vote won" type of thing.  Once the debates begin, I think we will begin to see the picture necessary to vote.

At least, that's what I am waiting for.

I think the only thing that will give Obama a dominating win would be Hillary.  She would bring him a buttload of voters.   If she is not his vp its gonna be close till the end.  While Obama had the media talking non stop about him and not McCain for awhile.  McCain is gonna shine more in debates, because hes just better at handling the hot seat.     If that religious forum they were at the other day is a showing of whats to come Obama better get his crap together.

I am not saying Obama is a bad speaker (alittle boring and a tad dry).  Just that he doesn't carry an audience as well as McCain can.
