im with the dumbos too but the shamans are awesome, the casting is smooth and crisp and the run so funny . The swigs are awesome looking too, I see them running everywhere.

Everything is relative.  And some people just want more than a MMO is ever going to give them.

How fast the combat is, depends on the class you play and what you are doing and what level.

A level 40 witch elf in rvr – fast as hell.

A level 4 magus in pve.  Slow as hell.

World size – tier 1 in one pairing – average – but there are two other pairings.  The capital cities are huge and make the ones in WoW look like shacks. 

 

Looks it's a good game, anyone saying otherwise - played in early beta and hasn't seen all the improvements, or has something up their butt.

And then theres ZERGing, once power levelers Rank up to 40 and start to ZERG, them im sure its all about "relative" cause dying time and time again will be so fun.

It happened with DaoC and it for SURE happens allot with WoW BG's (AV being a great example!) and in both of those games 99% of the time players simply thru their hands up and didnt even try!

I see this problem with WAR as well, its too bad the dev's havent responded or even addressed how they plan on dealing with the issue.

Would someone,anyone,rise to the occasion and make a solid thread about the different classes,pvp viability and the breakdown of dps...AND BE CONCISE W/INFO BACKING THREAD.....

Read ProfRed's blog on the main page. He wrote a clear, concise and organized review and summary of his beta experience.

What are you saying? I have read several very interesting reviews here, plus lots of information about the classes.

I have been posting all my info there, because they don't break out into flame wars like they do here.

The flaming isn't as rampant there, but talk about ambiguity. One person posts his/her opinion about the game and the next person posts the exact opposite. "The world is HUGE!", "The world is way, way, WAY too small", "The combat speed is perfect", "The combat speed is agonizingly slow" etc. etc. Jeez, people really have problems with their emotions.

There are a couple of non-emotional responses on these forums as well as those forums and thanks goes to the people who have posted them :)

GreenChaos, just wanted to thank you for posting your impressions over at the other board.  I'm not registered and didn't really feel like it just to post a couple of times.  Seems like the folks are very level headed over there though, which is definately a change from here.

Mainly I was just curious how the game was turning out.  I haven't really been interested in this game, but mainly just wanted to see how Mythic would turn out with it.

Anyway, thanks for your time...

im simply stating the truth of WAR which you do not seem to express most of the time. The game is not as polished as everyone continues to say, not to mention NO ONE seems to talk about the ZERG issue that will become once the game is released.

There are people talking about zerging over at the other board along with collision detection for friendlies, and a couple of other negative aspects.  I would say it is fairly balanced in the neg to positive posts over there. 

Just some quick info . I saw someone mention some say the game is small while others say the game is huge.

As a high elf i counted the zones once. Counting the zones belonging to the high elf from tier 1 to the last tier. There were a total of 15 maps on the world map.

Now think about this... High elf having 15 zones.

Then there's green skin,dwarf, chaos,dark elf and so on. Each of these races have basically the same amount of zones as the high elfs.

So in other words each race has their own amount of zones that belong to their race.

Now do the calc to how many zones there are to pve in :).

Now the fun thing is...

If you belong to order, so yer a high elf or dwarf etc, you can pve in each zone belonging to one of the order races.So a high elf can play in a dwarf area and do all quests and public quests there. This makes it about 15 x the number of races belonging to order. That's the amount of zones you can pve in. For instance per tier you can do public quests in each of the races their tiers, as long as they belong to your realm. If you'd want to then this way you could simply lvl on public quests alone and skipping all normal quests by simply going to all race's their tier zones and do the pq's there too for different reward and good xp. 

So yeah i'd say the game is damn big !!

Also the zones have alot of freedom to them. They are not linear. Sure the quests are linear in that they send you to every corner of the zone etc but whats important is you can go any way you like and there's, no set paths you have to follow like in aoc for instance,  camps and pq's and quests etc everywhere so even for the explorer its nice to just roam around in zones.

Sorry , I don't sit around I think about everything that could go wrong with a game.  I play it and share my honest experience.  I liked it.  I like that it's a classic MMO with gameplay variety.  I have fun with it.

As far as I the things that could go wrong I just don't care.  I buy games all the time.  Some I play for 2 hours some I play for 8 years. 

I have no idea how long I will play this game, or what it will be like two months after it goes live, no one does.

I couldn't tell you that I would be playing CoX for 5 years the first month I played it.  I couldn't tell you that I would hate WoW after a few months the first week I played it.

For some things we just have to wait and see.  But I like games, I have time and money to try lots of them and that's what I do.  There are no other MMOs I am playing at the moment. 

I have a very long list of reason I don't like WoW, and guess what, no one cares what I think about WoW.  People like it or they don't.

And if you are trying to predict the popularity of WAR, I can tell you I like it, and if I like it, it probably won't be that popular.  I think CoX is the best MMO to date, that shows you have off base I am with the popular crowd.  

Warhammer Alliance is a good site. I tend to see more misinformation here then anywhere else.

Basically people that're new to mmo's googling mmorpg and this link pops up first.

So you want to know about rvr? 

• Ah, you kill them before they kill you.
• Destruction has more people
• Order has better healing and range.
• Destruction has better tanks.
• So if the combat stays at range order wins.  if it goes to melee, well desto may win.
• Destro players aren't that smart, at all., so the combat usually stays at range.
• This is alliance / horde all over again but the sides have switched, and I'm with the dumb ones now.

 

 Destruction class's that need love, Witch Elf,  Magus, Squig herder.  All other desto classas are just fine.  The tanks do well in RvR. 

Destruction classes that are overpowered: None.

Order classes that are over powered: bright wizard

Order classes that need love (I can't answer this, ask an order player)

As a destruction player my first to target order goes like this.
1.  bright wizards (forget the healer goes first rule – these guys must die or they will kill you all).
2.  Any and all healers.
3.  Any melee dps
4.  Then anyone else.

Bright Wizards are not Overpowered. They are the direct mirror of the Sorc. Infact the Sorc has better racial tactics than a Bright Wizard, 50% damage on crits. The bright wizard has a 25% chance small damage shield. Albeit, one of the Bright Wizards spells is currently bugged, which has them doing more damage. You see more Bright Wizards then other classes on order, especially tanks because Order's tanks lack the overall coolness factor that Destruction brings.  Also, all duel weilding classes got a damage increase. Funny thing their is that no Order classes use duel weild (WHs do not duel weild).

If you comparing mirrored classes, as you should be.

DoK > WP, Covenants are far better than prayers, Duel weild procs effects more often then a slow 2h hammer.

Sorc=BW, Dark Magic and Combustion work the same

Zealot=RP

SM (slightly edges) BO. Both use step mechanic. Elf racial tactic has stackable DoT thats better than Orcs HPs

Chosen has no Mirror, Auras buff whole group as long as aura is up.

Ironbreaker has no mirror, Grudge buffs IB and 1 ally for 10 -15secs.

Maruader Mutations

Magus>Engineer, Turrets are horrible. Firing arcs and elevations are screwy.

WL / Squig only mobile pet classes, differnt classes one is RDPS, other is MDPS both suffer from pet pathing problems.

WH>WE Short stealth, burst DPS classes with light armor.

This is of course my opinion from the year in beta and playing in all of the Elder tests for both sides.

On paper perhaps.  And one on one I have no problem with a BW.  My magus kills a BWs one on one.  But in practice in rvr order is out ranging destruction.  I don't know how but they are, but I see it with my own eyes.   When I play my WE or my sorc, in rvr, I am on fire - then I am dead.  That is all I do.

Perhaps order is better at focus fire.  Buy I have played order, it's not like there's a lot of talking and planning going on ever there.

Yeah, except that they do burst out into flames all the time. I was there and know better. Bad crappy forum is bad and crappy.

As to the OP: Concise date like a breakdown of numbers is unrealistic for some many reasons. CB does not equal the open beta or release and will probably change around a lot. Its just pointless atm.

That would be true, if WHA were a bad and crappy forum, which it is not.

It is much better moderated than here, rules are followed by the majority of the community users, other than the expected odd bad seed. One cannot even begin to compare the two because the difference is like night and day.

Sure, if you are a troll it won't be the place for you to hang out, but if you are not then its easily one of the best fan forums available. The staff is top notch, and take the time to actually converse with the users, I have personally received praise from Moderators on WHA for helping them out during hectic times.

I wouldn't even consider spending my own time and effort to assist this forum in any way, one is a cesspool, the other is a freshly filled, warm bubbling jacuzzi.
