WAR (Warhammer Online)

Ok so like many people when I first heard about WAR comming out I rushed out and applied to be in the Beta.  As usual I didn't get in right away, but I figured no biggy I should get an invite to Open beta at least, since I entered my name back when the Beta Ticker read about 100k people have applied.  Now I hear that the only people that will get into OPEN beta are people who preorder the Friggen game.  WTF is that, I mean I can understand haveing a prestart for people where if you preorder your automaticly in beta and your character will continue into release without being wiped, but this is crap.  What is the point of having a beta sign up if your gonna let all of the people who pre-buy the game in first.  I am very dissapointed but I guess that is what happens, I will just wait for the release and then go see the game at a buddies house first.  How about you do you think it is right or not?

They need to just change the name from Open Beta to Less Closed Beta and they will be good.

Well if you followed the game so long I am guessing maybe you pre-ordered also but if you didnt,why not?

Also If you asked for closed beta back when it was only 100k then either you were unlucky or didnt actually post on the website to say you were still alive.

Now you arent losing anything all you have to do is pre-order the game in the US for the beta or in at the very least in Europe you will get the head start,I am sorry but I fail to see why a poll will make you feel any better.

They also forgot all about us people that went to a games day or GT or other Games Workshjop event and got those nifty little "get a spot in the beta" cards with codes on them. 

I put in 3 codes from 3 different cards and guess what.  no beta spot.

People are ticked about it but it's to be expected.  It's EA games.

Not really because it isn't under NDA.  Plus the amount of people that would of joined open beta would of killed their servers.  Why don't you just preorder and if you don't like it cancel the preorder?

Many of the people who sign up for beta either a) want to test out the gameplay for themselves just to see if its actually going to be worth paying for, or b) just want to get in early so they have an advantage over players who don't get to play until release.  Many do not even intend to help test the game itself in order to provide feedback on bugs and such.

If it were up to me the game companies would hire beta testers (pay and evaluate them), and nobody else would get in before release.

Betas are overhyped anyway, Half the people don't even do what they are supposed to be doing in beta anyway. It's only a month away anyway, I'm sure you can wait.
