Graphics-wise.

I would say a step above eq2, maybe?

Just curious on everyone's thoughts, I've had a few disputes with friends about it.

My buddy said WAR had worse graphics than eq2, and I said they were right above, based on what I have seen. So naturally we texted ChaCha for an answer, and their verdict was WAR is above EQ2.

Thoughts? Opinions? Trolls? Flames?

From the latest official closed beta movie on the official website... the graphics aren't very impressive at all. Far below age of conan, but somebody might argue "well it's stylized". Well, then I guess I should compare it to stylized WOW... still doesn't compare.

I've never played EQ2, so I can't compare it, but I would rank it as one of the lowest I have seen in recent. It doesn't even look as good as Guild Wars in that video.

But really what bugs me more than anything is the animation quality. Runs and walks look SOOOOOOO bad in various videos I've seen on youtube.

Note: I'm still excited for the game, I'm just saying this might be an area of dissappointment.

Yeah, honestly, I'm stoked for the game, but the graphics/animations are what I'm least looking forward to. Although as time goes by, I check the newest official screenies to check for improvements. EQ2 had pretty good graphics, so I'm sure it won't be too bad.

You shouldn't take those crappy youtube official videos as a guideline. The game does Not look that bad, it looks very good. Mythic just did a lousy job at marketing it and showing off how good it can look on the best settings. They could learn a thing or 2 from Funcom with this :)

Seriously, wait until the NDA is lifted and wait to see an high definition, high quality video of War.

As for better than EQ2 well... it's been 2 years since I last played it but I think that EQ looks a Little bit better.

You cant rely on videos that may be recorded in low resolution. Wait till the game is actually comes out to make a judgement. I've seen other screenshots and videos and the animations are fantastic.

About right smack in the middle above WoW and below Age of Conan.

Pretty much what you'd expect for a game coming out in 2008 that's trying to balance eye-candy with accessibility.

AOC > WAR > WOW > DAOC > EQ2(sorry they are just ugly) > EQ.

Those are the games I've played somewhat recently.

Of course the gameplay is more like EQ > WOW = WAR > DAOC > EQ2 > a kick in the groin > AOC.

I think that the graphics are somewhere around EQ II, but what the hell do I know? I'm not in beta, hehehe. I've really only seen crappy videos so I'm not in a position to judge. If anyone can direct me to pretty looking videos then by all means do so

TrainWreck: Youtube videos shouldn't be used to judge graphics quality. I've seen many games with beautiful graphics that have been butchered once they have been uploaded onto youtube.

Well I wouln't say its worse than EQ2, check out some screenshots on the official site.  But I can say it looks way better than WoW that's for sure.  Warhammer's graphics are somewhat cartoonish  but the textures are nice though.  Some screenshots look more cartoonish than others its kinda weird., but thats just my opinion.

Also im guessing the videos and screenshots we do see aren't full quality so Im sure the graphics will be better than they already are at launch.
