Quite the opposite. By posting their negative comments, anyone who hasn't played the game yet can clearly see the issues associated with it. They spend their precious time and effort writing these threads and posts to tell us what's happening, with nothing in return except whining from the people still playing. "You're killing our game! Stop! Stop!"

In fact, your comment could be turned around on you instead. Trying to make him stop posting his complaints doesn't do anyone good but yourself, because you can more easily justify paying for and playing a game that is obviously trash. Instead of crying about it, why not start an "AoC is awesome" thread?

This forum exists for people to discuss the state and/or potential of various games. If we start silencing people just because we don't like what they say (a la Funcom), then you might as well just close the forum down.

Ok, quick question for ya sir. Do you really think people posting about the same issues over and over again really helps anybody? I would like a real honest answer that dosent have becuase they can in it!

Report it to a moderator if you have to and let them handle it. Anything else is just a sad attempt to shut down criticism of the game.

People can post whatever they want.. i know this. I just cant stand it when i make a post talking about how an upcoming update looks good and i get nothing but endless people bashing either the update or the post over and over. It would be nice to get some feedback that didnt negitive comments in it!

Also people who are posting all the negitive posts know exactly what there doing. They simply reply to be an asshole or to piss of the posters... again not very helpfull!

That's what we call a "troll" and you should report them to moderators and then ignore them. It's not really a reason to complain, you're going to get some no matter what and whining only fuels them further.

No, it has nothing to do with people not liking AoC or funcom.   A shit ton of people dont like wow or blizzard but people dont go out of there way and set goals to kill wow either! Thats my main issue. People are going out of there way to ruin a game! I just think thats bs.. no matter what game it is!

I haven't played AoC yet, but from all the videos I've seen, it looks like fuuuun.  I don't care about stuff like PvP or 'endgame'...I play games to explore different worlds and kill bad guys. Once I get my copy of the game, I am gonna explore all over and kill MANY baddies

All the crap people are b1ching about are things I really dont care too much about. As for the crashes and bugs, I am sure (if not already) they will patch and fix those issues soon. I don't think they would abandon their game after spending all that time and money to create it. Haters can whine and moan all they want but it wont do any good muaha

And if they feel that a company went too far in it's desire to make money at the expense of them they should do that.

How many games release and after 3 months are plagued by the same bugs from launch?

Only ones I knew of was this AO, and SWG and look at those games reps in the community, get over it already man funcom dropped the ball plain and simple no amount of blame you guys place on the commmunity is going to change that.

Then by your own logic, this game/developer must have done something really bad to make people do this. 

You go to wow forums, there a little hate, a few good bye posts but thats about it.  With AoC, its just a full on rampage...people just don't do this for no reason.  People are going out of their way to smash this game because it's what needs to be done.

My biggest gripe with AoC was the over promising and under delivering (or more accurately lying) that went on from Funcom. There's STILL none of the promised PVP rewards, armors, etc in that game.

Good luck exploring in AoC. It's all instanced, and when you want to leave a city, you can't just walk out, you need to talk to an npc to port you somewhere.

E.g. The starting Stygian city, there's houses and a pyramid across the water from it, but guess what., you can't swim there, it's all props/eyecandy.

But hey, what do I know right, I'm just a Funcom hater. Go ahead and spend your 50 bucks.

I agree, dont judge something you never played. Go out there and buy the game and give it a try.

There have been a few of these posts over the past few days. I wrote one that intended to give a little balance to all the hate: acknowledge the problems, but also highlight what's good about AOC. I also took issue with the more unbalanced criticisms from the obessisive haters who go beyond valid critiique and gleefully insist on the game's total meltdown.

Now some of the haters I can sympathize with as they have good reasons to be upset with Funcom, but there are a few who are really off their rockers. The responses from a few obessisive-compulsive haters to my original post (i.e.' some people are still enjoying this game') and this one are very revealing btw.

The extreme serial haters really do feel 'personally' aggrieved by Funcom and want the company to fold as part of some warped, consumer revenge fantasy. They are also incredibly dogmatic and insist that anyone who 'critically' likes the game (i.e. who can see bad and good in AOC) is not a 'real' mmorpg enthusiast, is lacking in mmorpg 'taste', and is actually encouraging evil companies like Funcom to repeatedly sell us sub-standard mmorpgs.  It's an interesting variation on the 'You are with us or against us'  syndrome, and if you are against the haters then you are 'with' the corporate lies of Funcom and maybe even marked with the number of the Beast.

The arrogance and self-delusion is breathtaking when you have a self-electing, self-superior mentality that claims to be the sole purveyor of 'truth' and 'good taste' when it comes to mmorpgs. Combine that  with a laugable Jesus-complex which, in the same breath, claims to be 'doing it' for 'us', to protect 'us' from evil companies and  ultimately to safeguard the future of all mmorpgs (and maybe of the human race itself). And here was me thinking the 'issue' was a fifty-quid computer game. 

I'm sorry OP, those haters are never going away and they will never stop. But we can study them.

Yes  it helps alot of ppl.  Funcom claims they are patching up the game every week (another lie).  Still the game has so big technical issues that quite big portion of players that start playing are suffering cause of memory leaks - even tho they have PCs that are up to recomended spec.  This has not changed even tho Funcom is trying to tell ppl it has.   So posting this again and again and again after each and every "patch" that Funcom says is fixing stuff - is exactly what should be happening. 

You can call it bashing.  The truth is that its the counterweight to what FUncom is saying.  They are giving false image of the game and that needs to be corrected.  Cause we all know (including you) that Funcom is NOT thinking about the gamers. If they were they would not have published AOC in this state.

Agreed and Im one of them even got the box waiting.  However whilst one of my well balanced friends have stated "Conan is a severely broken game" I won't be going near it anytime soon.

And heck if I get into another game I won't be going near it.

What I will say is this though.  From what I have heard and seen Warhammer is ready for its launch not in 6 months time to a year, it is ready.  Conan will be forgotten if funcom doesnt try harder.

AO turned from unplayable crap to playable crap. funcon didnt change and ao didnt really change either. still the old lies and promises. still the broken patches, unreasonable bans and censorship to cover up their bug-ridden and content-free products. its 10 years too late for this kind of work now.
