True there r instances and there are quests, so the PVE part is not neglected. However, basically everyone knows that it's just the appetizer to the main course: the pvp end game. Moreover, if that is the case, unlike wow - I'm going to pick a class which seems to me good at pvp. a dps class. After thinking for a second, isn't all going to pick high dps classes? so why do u need a tank? Healers i can understand. Still i imagine not a lot will pick a support class. Am i missing something here? |

yeah when your dps class attacks the guarded healer who detaunted and debuffed you and your doing about 20% of your normal damage you will know why there are more classes than dps. |

It has to do with the balancing of the classes. DPS classes will not be able to destroy every other class just because they can DPS.. You need tanks to protect the squishier classes, healers to heal those in need of.. um.. healing, support classes to buff, cc, etc so their side can fight at an advantage and so on. People will choose a class that fits their play style, there will be no one uber pvp class. |

Tanks taunts work in pvp also, his targets will have to attack him or take damage also as a meat shield. So ppl will be playing tanks also healers healing everyone and dps doing damage,If you run in with just a group of dps guys against a tank, healer, dps I dont fancy your chances. |

Don't you need Armor to take a heavy fortified position? Why send a foot solider to take a keep when you can send in the tank and take it without the risk of losing a solider. Thats the way i see it. |

Taunt works in PvP but it does not redirect attacks, won't go into it further right now. You want healers because they can well, heal. Healing is still powerful in the game. You want tanks because they can take dmg meant for others, get userful CC and can absorb a lot of dmg. The game balance isn't perfect but every archetype is useful in some way in RvR. |

also, as stated ,amy times, the tanks can do pvp without starting to swear over the disadvantage. the tanks has alot more health / armor and therefor got an equal chance against a dps class. they have tryed to balance it that way.. so a heavy tank with a shield can kill a dps class just as "easy" as the dps class can kill him. |
