Alright, first of all I know people are going to start talking about how laptops aren't built for gaming or what not. Save it, I need something that's portable and can run games on it. So I'm estimating that I will have atleast 3000$ to spend on a new laptop, possibly 3400 or something in that range, but I need help getting the best for my buck. I've looked at the Dells and the Alienwares, and they do look very nice, but they are pretty expensive. However, I do not want to go with a company like Cyberpower because I have had nothing but problems with them in the past, so if you guys could suggest some good laptops or sites or something to help me out, that'd be great.

This is what I've been looking for

4GBs RAM

512MB NVIDIA GeForce 8800M GTX

Intel Core 2 Extreme X9000 2.8 GHz

500GB Hardrive

Screen size preferably 17 inches.

Weight and size do not concern me. Everything else does not really matter, just as long as it has those specifications (If necessary I may consider skimping off the processor to a possible 2.6 GHz).

Any advice is welcome. thank you.

"Free crack and everybody gets laid."

HP HDX decked out to your specifications.

I have heard only good things about that monster of a laptop.

Im not an expert on computers though, only making a suggestion.

This man speaks the truth.

Don't consider it a laptop though, the HDXs are huges screens, so look at it as a desktop replacement.  Also they aren't anywhere close to 3K dollars.  You could buy two for that price.

We must abolish ignorance or we will fail.

My brother just got a new game laptop I picked for him at $1500 USD was probably in my opinion should of cost $5000. It has the newest core 2 centrino 2 processor and newest 9800M GTS video card that also recently came out. Both run so cool it is ridiculous, the laptop doesn't even get hot. 17'' screen 1900x1200 HD resolution if you want to play it in full 1080p HD movies that you got off the net you can. Has a thumb reader to log on the laptop and HDMI output.

Plays Crysis on medium high with no lag, I think he was getting 50+ FPS on medium high. Has 2 200GB HDDs 7200 rpm drives in raid 0 for extra speed, can come with 1 200 also if you want or 2 200GB drives 1 for system 1 for games, however you want. And best of all it is not a DELL!! Gateway is the company.

I voted for Obama.

Dell outlet is a good place to find refurbished laptops of every sort, including gaming systems.  They come with a year warranty and look and work like a brand new rig.  I got one a while back with an 8600GTM and a C2D T7300 for less than 700 bucks.
