I can't believe people still rabidly defend this game. After all the lies, spin and missing game mechanics there appears to be one new "crusader" every day that pops up on the AoC forums to assume his role as a defender.

-People posting that their in-game mail has disappeared are told "You were using your mail for storage, it's an exploit so they deleted them."

-Reported posts of only 120 players at off-time and the OP is called jobless because he actually took the time (15 minutes) to find the numbers.

-People posting that their guild has completely lost all their players and all people say is "Good riddance" and "Funcom doesn't want the whiners to play anyway." (Denial, it isn't just a river in Egypt.)

-People saying mounts are useless and others respond by saying "That's only the low level horses, the more expensive ones are better". Which, as we all know, is a huge lie. Siege mounts that are worthless in sieges, that's Funcom for you.

You know what the real problem with AoC is, in my hallowed opinion? The douche bag fanboi's that try to convince others that this game has "potential." Well like another forum poster said, my turd has potential too. It could be used as a fertilizer or as a natural fuel for cars.

Aw did I hit a nerve? I'm sorry. Actually AoC wouldn't have been that bad of a game if they hadn't outright lied about features and hyped it so much. They made their bed, now they are sleeping in it.

Uh huh right. Funcom does not "have me by the balls" but I do admit, their forums are like crack mixed with heroine with a touch of nicotine. The only ones Funcom has by the balls are the ones who lash out to protect their sacred game when anyone says anything remotely bad about it.

Like I've said before, I LOVE trolling the AoC forums while I'm doing something else, whether it's modeling in Blender or whatever. It's one of the first forums I check when I get home each day. Damn, maybe they do have me by the balls...for their forums.

Edit for clarification: I don't have any issue with the topic at hand, but I don't like seeing topics dragged into a pit of personal attacks.

I would think they have the people that are paying them to play more by the short hairs. They treat the players badly, yet charge them for the pleasure.

Slythe, this happens with every bad game release. Fanbois will defend it even after the bitter end (look at VG... that game was a flop, and people were still defending it months after release, kinda like Baghdad Bob after the invasion.)

AOC is no different.

I've noticed, however, that some gamers are becoming less emotionally attached and more objective. When POTBS released (and flopped), there were much fewer fanbois.
