I have been playing MMO's since hmmmm can't remember. Guess old age is finally catching up with me. Anyway I always wished that UO would always be remade or at least have a sequal to it with enhanced graphics and such. Was just wondering if anyone else here ever felt the same way? |

Why the Warhammer boards? Just curious. Check out the Darkfall forums for a lot of other people just like you. Almost anyone that played MMO's that long ago would love to see it happen. The problem is the majority these days come on board with WoW. |

Well UO is from the same company, i never had the pleasure of playing it though. Look at the history though, when the companies finally make the successful title (like wow for example) they are able to bring back old titles like starcraft 2, diablo 3 etc. So what can you look forward to? Well you can hope warhammer will be "the" title that brings mythic the fame and fortune. Then you can probably expect to see a modern well designed title such as UO. |

They did try to make a Ultima Online 2, but they stopped development. |

That analogy fails. When did Blizzard ever make a game that wasn't successful? Twenty five years ago? No one is going to remake UO because UO failed to maintain it's subscription base in the long term. UO had many worthwhile feature that are seen in games, like war, even today but the market has moved beyond the core experience of UO. |

You would be surprised how few people care about what you have to say. |
Originally posted by alien1984 It was revolutionary for its time, but its star has long since faded. Unfortunately for the industry, it was the Everquest model, not the Ultima Online one that became dominant in game development. If a game with UO's model was developed well and actually had a chance of seeing a release, people would jump on board -- but not to the degree they did back in the mid/late 90s with the original. |

Sure old blizzard titles were great but the empire known as blizzard was never this well off until wow hit the top. When companies make this much money they are able to redo old titles and make them great. I highly doubt mythic has the resources to pull off a full blown remake to UO, which is probably why the 2nd UO was canceled. No offense to mythic but if warhammer is a flop they are done for. The player base from UO and games like camelot are nothing in terms of being successful in todays mmo market. |
