I loved AoC at first, though it got incredibly boring after a month.  WOnder if this game will have the same fate,

My fingers hurt from video games :(

It'll have content. Unlike AoC shit is actually there and getting tested. They have Elder Testers testing City Sieges almost non stop atm.

Those who do not remember the past are condemned to repeat it.

AoC's major downside is that it lacks in end game content. There is only so many alts you can roll before you get bored.  The major siege battles that were supposed to be a big part of AoC are still glitched making it hard to play. Throw in a lot of general bugs that need fixing and you can see why so many subscribers cancelled their subscription and went back to their original games. The rest of us are waiting for WAR. I don't think Mythic will make the same mistake as Funcom. AoC was rushed.

Great answer.  I can only add that Mythic is probably much better financed than Funcom was.  Mythic has pushed back the release date for WAR twice now to unsure a smoother launch, because the had the resourses to do so.  Funcom was probably jumping the gun to get money coming in and counting on completing their product before anyone noticed it wasn't finished.  Then they noticed how big their issues were, and it was too late because everyone figured out the facade.

I got my mark, see it in my eyes. This is the beginning...

Well my reflection I don't recognize. This is the beginning...

I don't know about all that.  The very fact that Age of Conan is in such a random state of flux with some things working and others broken/unfinished suggests to me that the project suffered from very poor direction from the top down. I don't blame the programmers; I suspect they are probably doing the best they can with being pulled in many different directions at once. The whole game just has a crazy schizophrenic feel to it. It's really no surprise to anyone who is familiar with Gaute Godager's previous work.

Anyways, the only people that can truly answer OP's question are still bound by NDA.

Support Bacteria - They''re the only culture some people have.

Well its hard to judge before game is released. Keep in mind AoC had quite long beta ( both general one and tehnical/focus test one ) and it still failed.

The main problem AoC have now they are polishing mid levels while players at max level are getting bored.
In 6 months time things can turn out, lets hope WAR wont have same mistake and the most crucial thing is what time does semi hardcore player need to reach max level -> in AoC those were lvl 80 within 1st month if they played like 4 to 6h per day.

If in WAR is hard to get to max level then they have time to polish high level stuff otherwise its better to be polished now.

The judgment how good WAR is should be made around 1.5 month after release ( if some manage to get to max level and test the content )

I wish WAR becomes great success and hopefully AoC will pick up the pace so we all have more quality MMO's to choose from.

And note once WAR is released there will be bunch of troll's aka disapointed players ( even if game if perfect ) just because its not what they expected .. do not judge game within 1st month.

Those who wanna be on a safe side its even better if you can wait 2 months after release -> but most cant,
