I can't get over the fact that there are so few choices of things to wear in this game. They all look the same with just different colors or patterns. Why are all the dresses ripped in the front? Where the hell are the outfits that are shown on the characters on the box and in the promo videos? I'm not sure that any MMO out today (except maybe CoX) understands the importance of being able to look different and somewhat unique in a MMO. Why is it so difficult to put out a MMO that has both great gameplay and cool customizable avatars? I REALLY hope WAR breaks this mold. /rambling rant off.

SOE has tried to revamp the Character Skeleton models for EverQuest2, but due to the crappy nature of their game engine they now have officially given up on this revamp as they couldn't make it perform well enough. This much anticipated revamp should have opened up the customisation on gear greatly for the design artists that are now limited due to the current Character Skeleton models. SOE is now trying to find a different way into getting this adressed, but I personally have given up hope on this :( As we have waited over 4 years for this already. |

In EQ2 you've an extra visual gear window. You can wear most parts twice, 1 time for the stats, 1 time for the look. So you can customize your look as cool as you want by wearing whatever you want without losing stats. Everyone not playing wow is a wow hater! :P |

I understand that -- the problem is your choices are so limited that it's hard to come up with a decent look. Everything looks so similiar. I've yet to see any set of armor, dress, robe, etc that makes me go, "Wow, that is cool looking!"

They all have the same armor, weapons, hair, etc. None of them look individual at all. They all look like the 100s of other toons in game. There is no room for customization at all. Deathstrike2 is right very few choices to create a unique look. Don't you agree?

lol i like how you didnt show more then one of the same class and how you showed completly differant lvl charactors.. of course theres going to be a gear differance look wise between 20-80 .. but most of the end game gear.. or crafted gear looks exactly the same.. just differant colors.. |

The different races still look amazing, so do the mounts (best of any MMO ever! Especially the animations!) But.... it's the armor model templates that are limited. From every armor style (plate, chain, leather, robe) the basic model template is the exact same for every set of that armortype! The only thing the Artistic designers can customise are the textures itself. Not the overal shape of the armorset itself. The reason for this is the way how the Character Skeletons models are build up and limit the outline customisation of the armor models itself. With the Character Skeleton revamp they tried to eleminate this and so giving the artist departement more freedom in armor design. Unfortunately the Revamp has been scrapped for good now due to the crappy game engine |

Not because I was trying to fool or mislead anyone as your are suggesting. It is becasue I am showing pictures of my alts (read my text). Why would I have all my alts at the same level and class? Get a grip. |

Ha! Sorry if I pushed your button. I'm not trying to knock the game as it is decent. However, I am pointing out a very big flaw in the game IMO. Now please... Show us 3 or 4 robes and how different they are, or 3 or 4 dresses and how they're not all ripped in the front where the legs are. Heck, show us 3 or 4 of any of the same set and let's see how they're not very similar at all. I never said anything about weapons, hair or faces either. I like those (well, the human looking faces kind of look cartoony to me, but the animal races look great!).

The OP was talking about the general look of EQ2 and making general statements. Quote "I can't get over the fact that there are so few choices of things to wear in this game." I was simply showing my toons you can make your own judgement. |

You placed your pictures and post in a very sarcastic way trying to show the differences of armor/clothing and as the other poster said sure there's going to be a difference between 20-80 as you showed. So ya failed again... |

So ya failed again... I say umm again. The pictures were in response to the OP not you or anyone else. I was trying to show there is indeed a lot of variety in EQ2 as much or more then most mmos except CoH/CoV. The OP never mentions anything else other then there are few choices and I was showing that in my toons there are many choices. As far as you telling me I failed twice, this is not a test, failed, passed? This is a forum I post my opinion not a response to your tests. Quote "Nope, that's not the point and you know it." Don't assume you know my intentions. You may not be as insightful as you think you are.

Originally posted by orodeon Oh I forgot to answer this also orodeon. The gnome, orge, halfling, and kerra are all level 20 and below. The ratonga is 52 and the human is 80. I was not trying to hide anything or fool anyone as you seem to think. Just want to clearify that. Also before you say the gnome is not wearing level 20 armor. That gnome in the shiny armor is level 20 and that is not high end gear it is faction armor. |

Honestly... so what. I'm tired of hearing this complaint over and over and over again. The armor is realistic, not cartoonish, which I have no objection to. My website is closed temporarily. Hopefully it will only be a short delay. |
