Well, I hope to God it's not. By watching a few movies, like character creations and everything, reminded me of Perfect World. Even ability to fly. Seeing as Perfect World was so boring and really slow level-up and quite complicated to understand anything, I hope Aion isn't the same. It really does look like a great game and I hope it stays that way.

I admit that I haven't played much Perfect World, but from what I've seen, Aion is playing in a different league. The Character Creation IS a lot more in-depth than that of Perfect World (I've had the privilege to get some hands-on experience with both), and I don't believe the latter focuses as much on end-game PvP guild-battles, as Aion do with "The Abyss". The whole PvPvE aspect, not to mention the Stigma system, surely aren't found in PW either. 

We will have to wait for the final judgement on release day. I give you that, PW could probably best be described as an "Aion light", so no wonder that you've seen some similarities.

The answer is a lack of information, or rather, that the information hasn't reached out to everyone yet. If you want to make a difference, you should try to prove them wrong, instead of just stating the obvious.

Ppl can compare the two because recent releases of P2P aren't much better than F2P games. I would say that Perfect world is the WoW of F2P games...it just looks better than WoW..=P

Perfect World is a great game, it's a good game to play while waiting for Aion and beside Aion it's worth to try. xD

I think the graphics of Aion is better than Perfect World but i could be wrong.

As I remember Aion was announced at E3 2006. Back then there was no Perfect World. And when i tested the game it was sooo copied by L2, Aion and some other titles too.

         I also dont get why people comper Aion with a f2p game in the first place or claim that the game will be like...and post some stupid ideeas without making any research about the game itself.And if not Aion have most info out ther to feed yourself with info from closed beta, than wot game hade in this stage soo many video about GAME PLAY? And wot proof is more obvios than GAME PLAY videos.Is not the only thing that reveal the truth about wot we will get?

         I dont know if Aion will be a hit,did not play it,but from wot i see it promis a lot.And it is my first option when will come out.

         My advice is to just google it-info-videos and after watching and reading about it come here and claim this and athat about the game knowing  wot u say.

It's because most people are sick of crappy asian grinders, which is what Aion will be.

Oh my goodness. I wish this ugly and uninformed rumor would just die already. Every time I see PW and Aion mentioned in the same piece of text I literally roll over in my grave.

Not to mention to compare the two is like comparing a Volskwagon Beetle to a brand new Lamborghini. I have played PW and I have also demoed Aion, so I actually have first hand knowledge of both games. I can also say this... "PW is a big piece'o'crap". If you think it's a "good" game... my god people... get out of your house a bit more and let your brain resolitify lol.

If you're going to pretend to be more knowledgeable than everyone else, at least learn not to use sources that discredit your own posts.; Perfect World was originally a Chinese MMO released in July 2005 and the Q3 2008 release corresponds to the North American translation. The comparison between Aion and Pefect World is a valid one since they have similar aesthetics, both are Asian MMOs - notorious for their grinds - and both feature flight/winged characters as prominent parts of the games. Regarding your opinion on how Aion is the superior game, I would certainly hope so since it's being released four years after Perfect World and is developed by one of the biggest MMO publishers in the world.

Furthermore, the influx of Aion news is fairly recent. Prior to this year, this game was under tight wraps - a wise decision since bad news spreads quickly, even more so for MMOs.

Only reson i think PW sucked was the lag :P rest was awesome and i LOVE grinding.

MMO's should be grinding, playing 8 hours a day so i can pwn the crap out of everyone who only plays 4.

Dont wanna grind, goto your local shop and get a mamma boy's game like WoW.

Play a day hit 70 and raid for scraps the next 4 months..

Took me 6 months to hit 240 in MU online back in the days, and not even highest back then.

Based off screenshots, it isn't to far fetched that someone would try to compare PW and Aion. Some of the greater differences one can point out in these situations is gameplay, where as Aion is built for a western audiance and focuses less on grinding levels. Aion also has higher quality environments, most free to plays Asian-grinders tend to have decent characters and horribly constructed worlds.

Aion's pacing is definitely quick, and the best place to see this is videos all over youtube. Combat is fast and beautiful, both on ground and in air. The PvPvE element of combat is also a very big feature of this game, enhancing the experience of capturing fortresses with you legion, under your races banner.

I don't doubt that most of the "Aion is just an Asian grindfest" people are just the World of WoWhammer kids venting.

Well needless to say I should have known the pies would start flying. I suppose I should have worded my text a bit better than what I did so I only have myself to blame there.

However, I will say that my text was not on discrediting PW's established history but more to show each games relative history to one another in the knwon Western markets. Now if you want to go back further than what was presented in the wiki... sure... PW was released in the Eastern Theatre when Aion was still in the Alpha stage. So, breadm1x I emplor you on your ability to post those facts. However, you clearly misconstrewed my point, part of which was my fault.

Secondly, Winterfresh, to go as far as to say that the sources discredit my opinion. Um how? My opinion was not on the etablishment timeframe of the games but merely on how to go about starting to find information on Aion and even PW. A poor source... possibly... but totally discrediting... no.

My only point to make was that there are HUGE differances between the 2 games and, granted, one could easily draw a conclusion or two and say... "oh they look the same". That's also like saying that just because most automobiles have 4 wheels, an engine, and a steering wheel... they must be the same and expect it to be true. One needs to do the research to find out what those differances are.

NP jm its just that "FACT" thing that bugged me.

And yeah u cant compare PW and AOIN even L2 plays bettter :P

But the engine does look nice, but i take aion over pw anytime

But the custom chars in PW are the best out there, only thing that comes close now is CoH/CoV.

And hope Aion will beat it :P
