doesnt look that great to me

the list of features I saw was appealing though (especially one server and guild run mining outposts).

If they can add in some non-combat stuff, this might be a winner

If you saw the whole Webcast you would know that he talked a lot about non-combat experiences in STO. He mainly talked about exploration which is cool because that is what Star Trek is all about. I think you'll find that the trailer is all combat because seeing some guy mapping a star system while interesting to some would have made it a pretty boring 2 minutes.

It actually looked pretty good to me, except for the fact that it looked a little too... NCSoft-ish.  I mean, okay - it's cool that NCSoft makes decent games.  I'm with that, but all of their games have the same look and feel to it.  I blame it on the fact that they all use the same 3D engine, but oh well.

Just hearing the famous ST opening fanfaire made chills run up my spine.  I'm the sort of guy who would choose Star Wars over Star Trek any day of the week, but I'm still a sucker for Star Trek, nonetheless.  I really hope this game is good and not another Tabula Rasa let down.  The "worlds" already look like TR... I hope it does better.

NCsoft arent making this game Cryptic studios are but still currently it looks rather plastic like but thats to be expected in a pre alpha mmo.

Don't know if you can run it?

The presentation was good but it could be very easy for them to make STO a simplistic cookie-cutter MMO. STO needs to lean more towards being like Eve Online in it's complexity; especially since the core Star Trek fans are going to want space represented in a realistically complex way.

Here it is in HD.

EVE Online finally has some worthwhile competition in the space mmo genre.

I'm not sure what to think here. All play captains but can specialice in a department ie. engineering.

Your ship is steered by you but you also have NPC's you can send around.

So the Captain will be like the Warlocks of WoW only with lots and lots of pets ?

It looks semigood though taking account they are 2-3 years away from release.

Amazing how they can say they aren't using anything from PE and then they show us a trailer full of PE's material.

Not a good start for me.
