When i install the retail box client it seems to run ryzom_recover.exe which appears to do nothing.
I have managed to get my hands on the Ryzom Fixer and cannot install it / patch it due to "client_ryzom_rd.exe" not existing (according to the tech support forums)
So...what can I do? Is the retail client useless? I just want to get it patched up and ready for the opening of servers to all accounts next week.

From what I've seen there's a new patcher .exe file and it isn't named either ryzom_recover.exe or client_ryzom_rd.exe. The file name and location hasn't been publicly advertised so I'm not posting them here. My guess is that like those who active accounts at the time servers went down, those who ever had an account will receive an email from the new owners when they're ready for us - that will contain the URL for the client and the new patch file. Keep checking your email and the official forums. |

The patch file is Ryzom Fixer. I explained that in the post ;)
But thats what i'm saying, it doesnt work. I'm just downloading a newer client now, wish the retail cd's worked though.

this is a currently working client, atm you can log in with free trial accounts or accounts that were paid for when Gameforge's subscriptions went down: edit: removed the links to the client.

The client on Filefront.com works too, needs a small amount of patching however.
Can anyone help here. If i login on the site and apply a retail box key to my Trial account what will happen with my free 30 days...
I want to play the content outside the Trial island, but I dont want to loose my free 30 days.

They even released the latest client on their servers on the website for quite a good few hours, and it is still present on their servers to download just not linked.

I know you have the new patcher. And I know they made the latest client available for download too. I have those links too. But... They don't want anyone but VIPs to have a fully patched version of the game. Those VIPs either:
So this 'secret' patch file - that they expressly don't want you to have - why would they make it work for anything but that specific version of the game? Yes, they'd have to expect that some people would try to jump the fence - but that doesn't mean they're going to poke holes in it so you can walk through. |

The retail client cannot work due to a major change in the patcher done by GF. So basically the fix can work only on the latest working client.

If you are concerned about the new free access that should open in this week that should be available to you with your trial account, I think it's better to log and see first. Then you can access Klients Support chat (now called CeB) and ask a CSR if u can use the key during this free period or it's better to wait the full reopen of the game.
