I have noticed that AoC has stabilized at 4200 to 4400 players for the past 15 days.
I think we have found the population base that the game is going to run at.
Now the question is, how many is that? Sounds like that it will run about 250K mark. |

I dont think its no where near stabilized. The played hours are still dropping for every week and its just a matter of time before its behind Eve Online. In 1.5 months Warhammer Online is out and all the people who went to Conan to try something new cause they were tired of WoW or whatnot and might still be playing Conan will surely move on and try Warhammer instead. Although I suspect that when Warhammer is out and also Wrath of the Lich King, then it will start to stabilize itself. I'm guessing it will be behind Lotro and probably drop down to Star Wars Galaxies level in another 6 months of time. Vanguard is a good example what happens if you ruin your reputation. Even if your game is best on the market one year after the failed launch it wont help. Not saying Vanguard is best, just for comparison. All the lies and deceit Funcom pulled off and the reputation of the game itself will break it forever now. When I quit playing about 3 weeks after launch and felt really cheated I was hoping the game would lose alot of players, but I believed it probably wouldnt happen and that it was just me who had too high expectations. But boy was I wrong, instead of Funcom fixing stuff and keeping their player base they broke the game entirely and for some time I couldnt believe it and I'll admit I have alot more fun reading about how Funcom keeps destroying the game than I had playing Tortage which was the only place I really liked in the game. :) |
