The more laws, the less justice |
Like topic says, or is it the company that's making all the anger? I never played Anarchy Online but I heard that the game was good until after Age of Conan. So I'm wondering for someone to clear this up. Whenever someone says the game's bad they always have something to say about the company. I myself can't stand the game but I don't think that's making ALL of this hate. So tell me, is it something else or do you guys just like to complain? O.o |

Its many things Dlore. http://www.mmorpg.com/gamelist.cfm/game/191/view/videos/play/1248 to be honest this interview sums it all up. Broken promises, from get go. Look at the box you bought for AOC and read again what it says for the games descrition. That is a start i guess. There is more but meh. Sure many more will post here to tell you. |

I think it's a combination. On the one hand you have a game that is really fun from 1-40, but loses steam after that. The big reason for this dramatic fall off is a significant number of key systems which were either minimally tested in beta (raiding) or not beta tested at all (crafting and massive PvP). On the other hand, you have a company that has consistently lied to the players and the community. Of course, this is also the company that launched a game with untested key systems. The game has potential, but that potential is far from being realized due to a series of terrible decisions and/or actions on the part of Funcom. Even the problems with the game are ultimately attributable to the company that developed it. So in the end, the furor is all about Funcom. But that doesn't mean that the game isn't badly flawed in its present state. |

If it was just another shit game we'd get over it. However, this was a widely hyped up beyond extreme (tons of E3 awards) piece of shit game to where the company STILL PR hypes the game after its release. Throw in lies and blatant incompetency (charging Credit cards early among other things) and you have a great recipe. |

Don''t reply to me or quote me if you can''t do so without breaking Forum TOS cause I will report you! |
Before AoC even launched, some were skeptical simply because of Anarchy Online. Basically, AO was deemed the worst launch in history and so it goes with the now infamous AoC launch with incomplete and broken content and mechanics. AoC in itself is a decent game on paper, but in real time action, it had too many severe flaws to be called anything but a beta product. Simply put, FunCom released it too early and are once again paying the price for their ridiculous decision making skills. I know customers whine about push backs, but the developer knows if a game is ready for launch and if FunCom in their wisdom call AoC a perfect launch, you know they must be sniffin something other than elmer's glue. |

Haha dude, it's not like I'm sweating bullets or cursing a storm because of it. I just enjoy expressing my opinions. |

The deceit... So that goes back to the company itself. AO was in very bad situation when it launched. They said there was a miracle patch for it, which was all bs. Actually AO is where I got tainted and never believed any dev again about that type stuff. AoC has some cool/unique features about it. The problem is, when it is so similar to other MMO titles it is competing with them on all levels. Content, gameplay, crafting, you name it. I think what is going to have to happen is a new genre of MMO come out to really get hyped about MMO's again. No new MMO coming out can compete with content of ones that have been out for years. So I think the content for us gamers will always be a problem. The only way I see this changing is a shift in the type of MMO we are playing. Anyway, that is just my opinion.

Its mostly Failcom that generates the pure dislike for the game. If they can just get their PR team to start being humble and honest plus reevaluate the priorities for its patches & testing procedures Age of Conan stands a fair chance at having a great gaming life. They honestly should drop the NDA too I can't believe they haven't. |
