What is so freaking cool about this game in all honesty? What makes it better than Guild wars? Or even runescape (Before PK was taken out) IMO, The PVP on WoW sucks the Crafting is horrible because there are so many people doing it, The instances are only run by the people who have no life and to get into their guild you have to basicly play years and years before you can run a SUCCESSFUL Insta and even then what are the chances of you ACTUALLY getting a piece of rare armor? I think this game is severly over-rated and I dont understand why so many people are playing this game, Plus the learning curve is horrible due to the amount of people and not to mention when you FINALLY get the max level they boost it up to 10 lvls higher which you have to have absolutely no life to play to that level or spend another half of a year getting to that level which incase somepeople dont know math that is 90$.  I just dont understand why people play this game and why its so popular Its not very origional I think its just because they have such a large player base that people think its so awesome, True they do have pritty good servers but that doesnt mean anything if once you get to the max level and start getting bored of running the same instances or going on "Raids" Where people have to be flagged to kill them. Flying mounts are kind of origional but you can only use them on one of the 3 continents. I just dont understand why people like this game so much someone please explain.

Why play any games? Entertainment. People enjoy the fact that most of them will never reach the goals that they set. It gives them something to look forward to every day, something to spend there time on. So why criticize just WoW, when all games really have no point...

Because WoW is taking up such a large playerbase most games dont have the players to start up.

But you are right im also targeting all of the retarded Asian grinder games that have item shops that someone can basicly start at the top level on.

I think the game is a lot of fun. I have enough expendable cash to afford the monthly fees. I have friends that also play and enjoy the game. We aren't the best group, i still haven't gotten my friends to do a heroic dungeon with me, but we have fun in the stuff we do together.

If someone in our group wants to craft a blazefury and needs 10 primal fires. We all work together to get those primals. Things like this.

Its a game best enjoyed in Moderation. If you play it like Everquest you'll end up burning yourself out. Everquest involved so much time, not because the game had superior game play, but because it just took forever to do anything in that game.

I'm not hardcore, i have two level 70s and i've been playing since release.

I have also played many other titles, and most of them were fun, but none were as complete and thoroughly enjoyable as World of Warcraft.

World of Warcraft is like a real game, and most of the other stuff on the market is like Freeware.

I don't think World of Warcraft is actually 'sucking' the entire Playerbase away. In fact, I'd rather say it's only causing demise in experimental players in The Asian Market. They are definetly hooked on that game, if they arn't hooked on another already [insert countless number of asian market games]

   WoW has its flaws for sure but dont compare it to Runescape...ti is light years better than that piece of garbage......

I am just going to pick through the thread and comment on specific things you noted. Easier that way. Before you ask I have played WoW since beta and have many level 70's so far with many mid level alts. Telling you this is just to let you know I put a little time into the game that is all.

The main diff. between all these games you named and wow is the depth and the polish. GW I completed in 7 days. (yes I have about 6 level 20 PvE characters in GW so I have played it a great deal as well) GW is like playing a novel or a book and once completed, you either pvp or uninstall it. Tho it has great story, it is a story that should only be heard once.

Runescape..... Has the dated graphics of the 1960's, I couldn't even load up runescape as it felt to close to playing donkey kong for me to actually stomach playing it.

The PVP on WoW sucks

The PvP on WoW is diff. Take GW for example, in GW pvp is very team oriented, either you play as a team or you die. You must also have some basic understanding of how your template of skills work and how they tie into a team setting or you die. I always liked GW pvp very much. Though it is as of now run solely by elitist cry babies.

WoW PvP is diff. It is survival of the fittest and by that I mean usually the best geared. Though skill plays into the outcome some. It is usually very fast paced and twitchy combat. There are some good pvp to be found inside wow. AV battleground which is large with many objectives to claim usually yields a good 20 minutes of fun at a time. I will say not all of WoW's pvp is fun in my opinion but it has some very solid and decent pvp mechanics.

This comment screams that you think somehow you are "special". WoW's crafting is based solely on this supply and demand. You are allowed 2 main professions and 3 sub professions. Meaning not everyone can do everything like you imply. Let's say you are a enchanter and a tailor. GREAT! You can craft your own armor and enchant it up.... but you cant gather herbs or make your own potions for raids, you can't gather minerals and ore and create the jewelry and later much needed gems needed for your sockets. Thats is why EVERYONE has a craft, and everyone's craft is equally important inside wow. You take some professions that are good for yourself, but those professions are always needed by others around you. It is what makes the world go round and the economy inside wow flow like the spice in dune.

This statement has some truth in it but you have to twist it a little. It is true most of the top tier GM's of the top tier guilds have no life, but they are also doing a job that NOONE else wants. They take the time out of their lives to make your life easier. They lead you through some of the most difficult gameplay ever created with pin point accuracy. They do this so your not wasting your time or your monthly fee sitting in shattrath spamming for a pug. Respect the no life GM's because they are there to help you out.

This is also not true. I will take my newest character as an example. I made a hunter on Archimonde PvP server because my RL brother plays there. Alliance sucks ass to me so I quit Draka server. (alliance sucking ass in my personal opinion not intended to offend current Legolas wannabe night elves)

Now the hunter is still under 1 month played I think I have about 7 days played on him so far he is level 64. Also in this time frame I have built up 4 of the 5 Merciless Gladiator set pieces. This is a decent amount achieved in a small amount of playtime. You do not have to play years to run with good guilds. You just have to know what it is you need to accomplish and accomplish it. Now once I complete this little badge set/arena gear thing I have going on I will be allowed to enter Black Temple with my guild. They have also stated once I build up some T6 pieces  I can start going into Sunwell with them. All of this should be accomlished with my second month of play on this hunter. So the fact is you can accomplish things, just need to find the right people. If that server your on is full of elitist jerks shop around and reroll somewhere else. I left 3 70's on draka and havent been back since, because IMO draka is garbage. Just food for thought.

Every thing above is just you venting because you think you know how wow operates and you do not, you have 1 either been burnt by bad players and guilds, 2 just do not have the patience or know how to achieve very easy goals, 3 just like to whine when you have the power to fix everything above in a short amount of time.

Listen I think you just need to leave whatever server you are on. I don't really know how you get bored on raids because you obviously have never been in a large end game raid. Yeah running deadmines does get bored.

WoW is fun, fun if you know how to make it fun, fun if you surround yourself with fun people. Other than that wow is a pain in the ass.
