Note that the following is my opinion and not a matter of fact (apart from the forum censorship part, which is reported without exaggeration) The censorship on the AOC forums reached epidemic levels today with the minute-by-minute deletion of a hammering of quitting posts, and systematic censorship of all critical posts exposing Funcom's total lack of progress to try to save a contentless and terminally bugged, dying game. Seems like everyone has realised their feedback just goes into the trash, there will be no major overhaul of the game, and that the player base is extremely small already. There's also been a remarkable rise in the fanboy/shill population: Funcom apologists who have suddenly appeared to replace the critical posts with the notion that "today's patch was good" when it contained nothing but 3 small bugfixes while all the game content is still not there. Clearly Funcom sold the game on the back of features that simply don't exist. They get called out on it, but those who criticise their posts have their posts deleted and infractions to their account. Soon to come: server merges, server shutdowns and quite possibly a whimpering end to one of the most entertainingly botched yet strangely Orwellian MMO releases ever made |

Seriously now, come on. I mean I play the game and it frustrates me to no end. I have cancelled as well but the claims you make are a little outlandish. The company has serious problems no doubt. It's a shame really because the game could have been so good. |

Feel free to check the forums, watch as threads appear, click on them and note the critical posts. Then update the page and watch as all those posts have disappeared, or the entire thread has gone. |

No doubt the forums are nuts! I have had several threads locked/closed and recieved my share of "infractions". |

I predict Xfire numbers alittle above what Vanguard is right now, and I predict this will happen in the next 2 months. Funcom has crippled themselves.... dont expect another game from them for some time... and they MAY (as a last ditch effort) try to release an AoC expansion at the beginning of next year. (this will likely cause more people to cancel though)

Yep if it folds it serves them right. I am fed up of companies releasing MMORPG's is such DIRE states. I know MMORPG's can never truly be finished but there is a DAM LIMIT releasing a game that is stated to do this and that and with those features MISSING on release. A few companies or MMORPG's need to crash and burn to teach the industry a so called lesson. I Aplologise for my english as its a 2nd language. |

Come on, just because Age of Conan was full of lies and epic fail. That does not mean that their new MMO "Secret World : Age of Gaia(shit)" will be full of epic fail as well :P Playing: WoW, Played: Aion, AoC, Eve, EQ, EQ2, LOTRO, Runescape, Guild Wars, DAoC, Planetside, SWG, WAR, Darkfall Wanting to try: DCU Online Waiting For: Star Wars The Old Republic, Guild Wars 2. |

Well I was overhyped for a few reasons: - The Hype - The boobs - My class, demonologist - The combat system - The Graphics - Gotta get away from WoW and get into something new - Age of Conan seemed to be perfect What turned me off was the end game, lack of it, sorry but can we at least have some decent PvP? |

I don't know I have never personally seen a post closed/deleted/moved etc that was actually valid mature critisism. Pretty much everyone I have seen is always a variation of one of the following: Another example But look Famine let it go for a little while in another post just to have fun. 2nd post Another Here is the first post that this same guy made first post These are all great examples from last night alone of what gets moderated on the forums. I have never seen an actual valid thread get moderated. Maybe I am wrong though. But it seems that people are up in arms because they can't call Funcom names or rant about how they are quitting the game. I guess some people crave attention so much that they are incapable of formulating constructive feedback.

You're very very wrong, I've personally linked many threads here that got deleted on the AOC forums, I do have a few dozen in a text file that I'm keeping in case someone asks me to post them. You didn't see the geniune complaints that got deleted because ... they got deleted. It's mostly luck, but when I notice any critical post, I tend to copy paste it and a few seconds later -poof- it's gone from the forum. |

All of these threads are currently open. All of them are fairly long threads that have been around for more then a day or two (some as long as a month) and all of them are within the first few pages. Sorry but I am not buying your "Valid critical threads are being deleted" opinion. I bet every single one of those threads either had something against the rules in the actual OP or the thread itself turned into a flame/troll war. Currently playing: |

lol, and not just the forums, it's gamestop.com, amazon.com, mmorpg.com & forums, forums.ageofconan.com, gametrailers.com, are all saying Age of Conan sux, and say that MMORPG.com is the most popular |

Nice work, I see you've come to try to firefight the bad press. a) many of the threads you linked aren't critical; they're just making discussion points and are actually full of compliments eg: great game! but here's what we could improve to make it even better! etc which is really nothing more than subtle fanboyism b) there are huge amounts of individual critical posts within those threads that were deleted, so overall the thread appears falsely positive c) If you think posts aren't getting deleted systematically when they expose the lack of siege PVP, the lack of content, the poor patching and game progress, the poor raid instances or key "advertising points" - you haven't watched the forums closely enough. Posts like this one routinely disappear, as this one did (I've linked more in the thread called "EU moderators on a power trip" on this forum): "Today, 12:59 AM Credge is offline #6 Anything that suggests the core advertised features are not in-game are deleted, if you want to play a fun game try it yourself and see how long the stealth deletion of your posts takes. |

its true. As a former player, i was listening in on a guild meeting and they are merging with another of the largest guilds. Our entire alliance that was more than 2000 players over 4 guilds is now down below 400. The mergers are going from 4 guilds to 2 guilds. Glad i bailed on the 31st. |
