in 2 days.. there will be 3 weeks left in August.. and no word on a video yet.. You would think if they actually had a really great vid it would be out within the first week already. C'mon.. show me the money |

Conclusion on "video release" from Darkfall forums by user branka:

so 18-07 was a friday and the "next three weeks" begin from 21-07-2008 and end to 10-08-2008. next week after the SUNDAY 10-08-2008 is a holiday week (15-08-2008 is a MUST in many lands) so THE VERY FIRST possible week become after the 18-08-2008. i think really that Darkfall video,info,release date and regolary update begin in massive mode after the 18-08-2008 (in hope to a 2008 release.....)" so i guess its fairy reasonable conclusion that we will see video somewhere on 18.08. --------------------> |

gameworld.gr mentioned early August for the video + interview....18th is not early August by any stretch of the definition, so I say sooner than that... |

I just wait for all the excuses all the fans here will make for them when August passes and September is here, and no video ever is released. The excuses from the fanbois is a definite. The promised video is unlikely based simply on their past broken promises.

If that happens, I will be utterly shocked. Unless ofcourse they just release a new video with the same old BS we've already seen basically. Then ofcouse I will slam them for it. If they show actual in game footage with a UI and all, I will probably have a heart attack from the shock. I don't expect to see anything though. 25 days left. They still have a lot of time, especially considering capturing an in game video like we ALL want to see would be as simple as hitting a function key with fraps and then posting the recording video in their website. Shouldn't take more then 30 minutes to give us all what we "really" want to see....

I genuinely want them to release this video and I want it to definitively prove all their detractors wrong once and for all, myself included. Wouldn’t that be wonderful?, but of course based on their past actions and everything we know about their company, its probably just wishful thinking, and extremely unlikely at this stage. And I agree the usual excuses, justifications and elaborate explanations from the developers and community are almost definite, because that’s what has happened every other time a video has been released. This video is going to have to be absolutely incredible and really comprehensively demonstrate Darkfalls features, content and game play using in game footage , and theirs simply no justification for it not to. 3 months in the making and they have a feature complete version of Darkfall that’s currently in internal beta 5 months from launch to work with, its totally inconceivable that they will not put everything Darkfall has to offer in this video. As far as I’m concerned, at this stage, what we eventually see in this video is basically all that Darkfall has to offer, for better or worse. And for the record Tasos said "in a few weeks" in the May 23rd update, now its "next month", there's no reason he might not extend the time frame again or simply not mention the video in the next update, hes done it before so no reason he wont again. |

Personally I think it’s actually the supporters who are guilty of ignoring what Tasos says, or more importantly what he or any of the other developers have been saying for the last 7+ years but I digress. I agree there is a difference between “looking at” at releasing a video in a few weeks 2 months ago to now saying “we will” next month, but it’s usually the sort of BS difference used by politicians , lawyers, executives or games developers as an excuse or by the people gullible enough (or paid) to support and justify them and thier BS. |

I don't know about you folks, but I don't want to see a cool, edited, professional promo video. I want to see some actual in game footage without added fancyness and crap. And to be honest, it only takes 5 minutes to make a 5 minute video of ingame footage. All you have to do is log in and frolic about for a while. |
