"It is wise to keep in mind that neither success nor failure is ever final." |
Best review I read in while and I find it adoreable that Yahtzee is finaly coming to terms that he doesn't just think WoW is a good game, he actualy seems to like it. Link: http://www.escapistmagazine.com/videos/view/zero-punctuation/138-Age-of-Conan

Stand up for what you believe; Even if you stand alone. |
I really wish this review was a lot longer, because I think there was a lot more he could've gone on to say. All in all, I agree with him once again. ![]() Why do I write, create, fantasize, dream and daydream about other worlds? Because I hate what humanity does with this one.

Well although a lot of people may not like Yahtzee, the guy is usually about as spot on with games as tiger woods is with a putter or jordon was with a dunk. He pretty much sums up AoC in about 2 minutes or less. It's Crap. |

lol like he said, he's too busy kissing girls on the lips and buying yahts to give the game any real time, much less pay to play to get up to 80 most likely. If he did get up to 80 though, I think the rant would of been alot crueler to the game than it was now lol though i agree 100% with him lol |

That was hilarious, :)

LOL why the hell would he want to play the game past level 30? I think you are right though, if he had played the shit all the way to 80, his rant would have been 8 minutes long instead of about 2 or 3min. I think he gave it about 1 minute rant time for every 10 levels played. Yahtzee is king. |

it was amusing but not as funny as his review of The Witcher www.escapistmagazine.com/videos/view/zero-punctuation/22-The-Witcher |

I love his reviews. They're always accurate and at the same time amusing.

Can you amend your post title OP Should read Zero Punctuation, not Zero Puntuation, it sorta diminishes the effect when you have a typo in there, all in good faith. |

Always good, always accurate. But it's also pretty clear this guy has a particular dislike of all things MMOG, or as he calls them 'MMO-or-pi-ga' :) Except for WoW of course. I'd even say he got a few things wrong, such as the character creation. This review isn't as harsh as some folks would like I'm sure, and certainly not as harsh as some of the other recent Yatzee reviews. www.videosift.com/video/Zero-Punctuation-Review-Alone-in-the-Dark And Battlekruse continues his unblemished record of posting every bit of negative news, reviews, tidbits or over-inflated troll-worthy goodness. |

Zero Punctuation kicks serious butt! Always hilarious. :-) That's far from a harsh review coming from Yahtzee though. Check out his other reviews to get a feel for his style and you'll see. Only game I ever heard him actually praise is Portal - which is well deserved. --- |

I'd say he hit the nail right on the head with hyis character creation description. They had tons of clipping issues, so they nerfed the sliders so much that you can't make a fat or slim char anymore - they are ranging from slightly muscular to more muscular and thats all. Theres tons of sliders but many of them show only a slight difference when pulled from extreme left to extreme right. That was another lazy ass FC approach ... instead of solving clipping so the character generation works, they nerfed the char generation to solve the clipping. |

I think it has a lot more to do with the fact that the game actually works... unlike AOC which, at this point, seems to be 6 months away from being in a state that anyone would want to play it. If publishers keep producing games that are in such unfinished states over and over, they are going to continue failing over and over. People say WOW had issues at launch, which it did, but nothing like the problems AOC, Vanguard, and EQ2 had at release. The problems AOC has are just absolutely ridiculous, and unforgivable.

Heh lovely propaganda Battlekruse. The only people that even suggest that it's '6+ months before it's even playable' are those that haven't even played it.
Game has some issues no doubt, but it's more complete then many MMOGs are at this point. And WoW didn't have major problems in it's first several months? Can I borrow your rose colored glasses please? |

It is funny. But I don't think it is that accurate, at least from any real reviewer's point of view. First error of his review is he even says he only played from levels 1-30....you need 70 to actually experience descent pvp imo. I'll bet he didn't even get into a guild for pvp or grouping and i firmly believe that guilding is significantly needed in this game unlike WOW at least for levels 1-80. Second, he says that it tries to copy WOW. I hate it when people say this because it makes no sense. IF you play ball like that then WOW copied EQ with quests and user interface, and Halo copied Counter Strike so now Valve owes Bungie a lawsuit. It just doesn't work like that. So for real now, WOW is copying AOC by having siege warfare battles? Saying that AOC copied WOW and making that a pit of an argument against AOC....what a cop out of an argument for why AOC sucks! I'm not saying AOC is without flaws, in fact there are many i agree. But giving real credit to zero for a logical review will have to be tossed up to the haters on this thread. It is funny to watch however. |

His review's are better than most, you disagreeing doesn't somehow make them not logical or him not a "real reviewer". I suggest you work on becoming literate before you try to throw such words around. If anything the fact that he's so negative and brutally honest is a plus, since in these days games are often a pile of fail that costs $60 dollars. Also WoW did steal from MMOs before it, and every game since has stolen from WoW. |
