The folks over at CCP have started a series of stories chronicling the attitudes of faction citizens and the leaders of each of the four faction heads at the onset of factional warfare with the launch of the Empyrean Age expansion. The latest edition spotlights Jamyl Sarum, Empress of the Amarr Empire.

One thing CCP forgot when they launched "Empyrean Age expansion" that they would be leaving some players out of participating in this because of a flaw in their design. Many of us run around with expensive implants and the only way to safely pvp with such is a jump clone. A jump clone is a clone of your body, but without the implants. Implants improve your skill learning abilities. Unfortunately CCP made it hard to get jump clones, you have to run a lot of pve missions to achieve a high enough faction with a corporation to use them. I have chosen an industrial path where I have not spent much time on offensive skills, hence I have not spent much time in pve missions. I would love to try out pvp in the Empyrean Age expansion, but it is out of the question without the availability of a jump clone. I would not mind losing ships. I can build new ones, but I can't easily replace the implants easily at all. I just wish they had included some way to use jump clones within this expansion. |

I agree, they did a wonderful job of allowing ppl to use jump clones as sodo implant keepers, but, the high level of faction required to keep them makes it far to hard for regular players to think about using them for benefits of pvp. Along with that, the extremely long 24 hr delay to switch to a clone is another problem, yes, I do agree that a delay should be in use, but, more along the lines of 8-12 hrs would be far more useful. this way players can enjoy a good pvp battle, but, aren't out of the loop for a full day should they wish to return to a specific location after a good battle.

Yeah, the cool down on changing the clone should be shorter, for practicality. Implants don't cost that much if you're mining and building as much as it seems you might be... I believe it is the combat ones which combine attribute enhancements with offensive bonuses that are the wallet leaches. As for the standings required to use a jump clone; join a corp with a high standing... it may not take it straight up to 8 but it'll help. There are also mining pve missions you can do. - X - |
