MMORPG Character Monuments

...When its time for your character to take a well deserved rest...

Ok, turning the argument a bit, I dont think AoC deserves all this hype..as in, all the Negative Hype. Its not a bad game, just young. However, since there is a lot of hate against AoC. My question is, if not AoC then where?

Will you go back to WoW?
Will you go back to EQ2?
EQ1?
...Fly for Fun?

The Default answer is "Wait till WAR"...However I wager that many of the AoC bashers will also Bash WAR for the similar reasons (It'll be a good game, but not pristine and perfect out of the box). Who knows what WAR wil be like on release and when the release will be.

So, list what MMO you plan to play because AoC failed to entice you.

RULES:
1. Only list MMOs. No listing console games, or FPS
2. No Need to Flame, just by writing a response you have demonstrated you are one of the upset players and have (or will have) moved on.
3. List only MMOs that are currently released and available to be played. Just like WAR the "IM waiting for the next big thing" doesnt help the average player.
4. List the MMO and what it is about that MMO that makes you go to it. It may be that you can aid others like you

Behold! Rash of the Itch King comes in November! Quake in fear!

Actually there's a fair number of people that will simply stop playing MMOs altogether until WAR or Aion or one of those other games. I guess they've lost hope that an MMO can release perfect or close to it at least, after seeing so many dissapointments. Our standards might have to be lowered a bit, especially for the vets. Just another option I thought you should consider.

It just happens to look like crap.  But yea WoW is alot better than AoC.

Other good alternatives are LOTRO, Vanguard for PVE (Vanguard does have a FFA PvP server, but it could use some loving.  LOTRO has awesome player vs monster pvp, it's just not in all the zones.)

Maybe EQ2 for pvp, but the game has zones with loading screens so the PvP will always be kinda lame, however it has real risk and reward for pvp, along with rankings and ranked gear.  For instance if you die, you lose all of your coin on you along with a non bound item.  I saw one of my friends lose 40 plat because she spaced out and forgot to bank.  We still make fun of her for that.

Really, pretty much any premium game along with Guildwars is a better alternative to AoC.

if life gives you lemons make beef stew

I've never played AoC, but the alternate to go to would probably be WoW for most people (though i find it way to simple and boring).  People play WoW because it requires minimal thinking and most people don't even make it to end game raids, so they just enjoy slowly leveling there chars, because it's simple and everythings hand-fed to you.

But for other games for those who like challenge, I would have to say EVE since its live or lose all from what I hear.

EVE online

Freedom, crafting, hardcore PvP ect.

WoW

Lots of stuff to do, Some really fun PvE, and decent PvP

Guildwars

Amazingly balanced PvP, free, and some so-so PvE to go with it

Lineage2? erm... well, not for me but a lot of people like it.

Wow, why? Becouse mine friends all in there, and i miss them more, then any coolest game play any game can offer me, thought AOC could not even offer that...

Ofc i tryed UO,EQ2,Vangueard,EVE just recently, but nothing can hook me up, even wow is not hooking me up anymore, its just getting routine, i whant a game that i finnaly can beat, not just do same stuff over and over.

Big hopes for Diablo3, and thx god its non an mmorpg.

I'm playing War beta. (That's all I can say about that)

And AOC is now a coaster holding my beer in place.  Screw Funcom.  I'm not gonna facehump funcom like some people letting them get away with the lies, empty promises, etc.  I would rather play MapleStory or Ragnarock before I even thought about putting another Funcom title on my computer.
