As the storyline in The Lord of the Rings Online goes ever on, the developers at Turbine have run into the problem of what to do with certain NPCs who move around a lot, specifically the Fellowship of the Ring. This latest Dev Journal from Turbine looks at how they solve these problems in Book 14.

Book 14 brings with it a number of great new additions and features, but for those of us heavily invested in the storyline, one of the most exciting developments is also one of the longest-awaited: the Fellowship will finally depart Rivendell on their errand of secrecy. In today's Dev Diary, I hope to shed some light on how we're accomplishing the big move, why we're handling it the way we are, and what it means for you!

You're too quick for me.  The feature's been activated so the link should work now.

"but for those of us heavily invested in the storyline"   Pretty sure we all are, just some are a bit behind more than others.

Interesting information regardless.  Nice to know the fellowship NPCs aren't going to vanish on us.

Freedom is the will to be responsible to ourselves.

Book 14 really looks great.

But I just can't get passed that visual look the game has which doesn't appeal to me.

Now don't get me wrong the game looks awesome, very nice little details, nice art directions, but even tho I fully admit those things being great it still didn't have the visual look to keep me at the game after beta. Maybe I was hoping on a more darker type of LotrO. But reading up what they have done to the game alway's is enjoyeble to read as I can imagine that those who are playing will really find most things added to LotrO to be very good. Would it be visualy my type of game I would really be happy with those updates I keep seeing being added to the game.

I hope those who enjoy the game understand that I am in no way bashing the game.

I believe that what you will is that getting closer to Moria and the timeline moving on that i will get grittier and darker. The Mines of Moria is a good example of this.
