why do humans build, because it isn''t there |
(07-14) 19:23 PDT SAN FRANCISCO -- A disgruntled city computer engineer has virtually commandeered San Francisco's new multimillion-dollar computer network, altering it to deny access to top administrators even as he sits in jail on $5 million bail, authorities said Monday.
Granted the only way I could see the guy getting cited for poor work performance was if he was just being blatently lazy, after all he's keeping the rest of the IT department out of the system even though he's in a jail and they have any type of access(edit: hardware, other low level stuff) they could want. While you can't just go in and restart everything because you need to be able to access the logs incase anything was taken it is still disappointing that they can't just wrangle control before a newspaper gets the story in print. I'd also be laughing my ass off if he did give the right password as far as he knew... he just typed it in wrong because he wasn't required to type the password in twice. |

A vote is like a rifle; its usefulness depends upon the character of the user. |
