Yep, many problems remain and I am tired as everyone else of bugs and lag spikes etc.

But the most important aspect of any MMO is coming on in leaps and bounds - at least on my server: the community.

As more people leave, those that are left are beginning to get to know each other. There is less bitching, and a greater preponderance of people who are interested in enjoying themselves with what's out there.

Guilds are forming allies and enemies. Battles are being had. (PVP server here... not sure about PVE)

So, give or take, any time I log on I find a bit of entertainment, and expect that as PVP system and what not start to kick in, that that entertainment shall continue - at least for a while.

So there ya go. If you are hating the game and left - great! That means a greater concentration of people  who are enjoying themselves.

How do you feel about the populations. How big is your guild, and has it grown any?

What server also will help.

I almost felt like Funcom wanted to kill off the haters, and try to keep a community who believs in the game. Now, all they need to do is release a GODD patch for once, and I could see hope for them.

As it stands, the game has been hurt by a compnay who comes off like it does not care about it's audience, and that is a more pressing issue than haters..

Hope it turns out, because I had fun for the time I played. Just could not support Funcom and their mistakes.

"I don''t care! I''m gonna eat somebody."

I must say the good news I see in your post is that even you admit people are leaving. Good, FC and the MMO genre need a kick in the ass.

They released a bad game, many people leave, and then you get to have your less populated servers, merges, and things settle to a small niche player base as the game falls off the radar.

Wait, OP was a positive post supporting mass cancellations? O.K.

Somehow I knew in hell there would be mushrooms.

The communities might improve on a small scale, but I'd say the overall AoC community is probably one of the worst right now even with the falling subs. Angry customers, anti-funcom crusaders, jerks, trolls, greifers.. AoC is a cesspool in my opinion, much worse than any other MMO I've played, and I don't think it'll ever change. FFA and poor development just brings out the worst in people.

FFA PvP doesn't have too anymore than you'd expect when people are killing each other, poor development always does.

Everyone is entitled to their own opinion.
Even if it''s wrong!

The community is very good.

We have grown our guild to about 75 in the last 2 weeks with majority being 60+ and plenty lower levels,we are very cose to two full groups of 80.  Vent is getting crazy as we all get to know each other.

As recently as last night I created an alt to act as a banker, and ALL the listed servers were medium load, which i found unexpected with the amout of people that apparently left the game.  It seems the lower level areas are less populated on our server but Atzels and Keshetta are quite full.

Its funny how ones experience can greatly differ from another.  I have seen none of this at all.

I ran Sanctum with a PUG and the Priest of Mitra, not knowing any better, rolled need and won on a blue light chest for a Barbarian.  The Barbarian and his guildie friend flips out then de-groups and goes on to kill the whole party.

Yeah, great community.

Perhaps I'm a little nieve.  I don't think it's a matter of Funcom not caring or even the perception that they don't care.  I prefer to give them the benefit of the doubt.  I personally believe they just have no idea at all how to manage a game as it approaches release and post release.

The wheels have fallen off and there doesn't seem to be anyone able to grab the reigns and steer things straight.  Most games today just seem to mess up at setting customer expectation.  They promise too much and deliver too little.  For once I'd like to see a game announce features they know they can deliver and then surprise us all with announcements of additional features noone expected.  Now that would be a change.

I think they care but I don't think they know how to make it all work.

Yup that is what we call Uber Nerd Rage. There's nothing more pathetic and funny than when someone freaks out about an item in a video game.
