So I've been looking for a new MMORPG to play for some time now ( after playing world of warcraft for 2 years). Been struggling to find one for a few weeks now and I guess i've overlooked LOTRO, anyway I checked it out and am downloading the 14 day trial as i write this. I read that this game is very PvP orientated, which I like (im more of the raiding kind than anything else), so I was wondering this...since this game isnt very PvP orientated there are no such things are unbalanced, overpowered classes, right? I mean, you can pick any class and be on par with every other class.

Would like an answer if anyone if nice enough to repond,

thanks in advanced.

Pretty much , though each class has their roll . Like Gaurdian is your major tanker, he can pull all aggro onto  him and ge lets the dps classes do their thing. Another example is a Burgler, he uses stealth and can  do some crowd control, in PVMP  the Burglar is the most annoying of all the classed :P .

I would suggest trying some different classes until you find something that you feel good with . The classes as a whole are very flexable and probably the best hybid classes out right now , meaning they can play more then just one specific roll.

The good thing about LotrO is that the PvP doesnt have any impact on the PvE... The devs have said that they will never balance the classes for PvP and it will never affect how they work in PvE..

this meens that some classes are "better" in PvP than others... but all classes have a purpose since the ettenmoors is more about raid vs raid than 1v1 or 6v6 or something

but they are all very balanced and usefull in PvE and all classes are needed in raids/dungeons at "end-game", and they wont get nerfed every month to balance PvP :)

If you want to pvp i'd say make a burglar, great fun raping a elite mob with 2 fellow burglars. But for a first char pve oriented i'd say dont make a burglar or minstrel
