One of the new LucasFilm trademarks is for something called "Star Wars: Sagas".  The reason why it should be a bit nausea inducing:

forums.station.sony.com/swg/posts/list.m

In one of the replies to that thread, it was pointed out that the guy who listed it on his resume confirmed that it was a pitch by SOE for a SWG sequel.  Hopefully the folks at LEC aren't stupid enough to let SOE have a hand in another Star Wars MMO.

Who knows...maybe a sequel will be SOE's way of creating and sticking to a pre-NGE game. With a bit of luck they could have learnt from their mistakes

So, if I get this right, the Sagas game evolved into the NGE.  Is that correct?

It is possible depending on whether or not the SWG: Sagas pitch was before or after the NGE.  The guy who's resume it was in worked at SOE until January 2007, so the pitch could have been from anytime up until then.

I can still access the page.  It takes forever to load though, so the OBoard might be crashing again.

I''ll snatch you bald-headed!

From Adam Hunter's current .doc resume located at: adamhunter.net/Adam_Hunter_Resume.doc

Senior Client Programmer, Sony Online Entertainment, Austin, TX.     Apr04-Jan07

"Star Wars Galaxies" and expansions "SWG: Jump To Lightspeed", "SWG: Rage of the Wookiees", and "SWG: Trials of Obi-Wan".  Also a next-gen MMO demo (not released, tentatively "SWG: Sagas").

Animation, UI, and graphics issues but handled just about anything at one time or another.  Features as well as live support. Due to the small and veteran nature of the team, often served as my own project manager, writing my own Technical Design Documents and scheduling my own time in conjunction with Production and Art/Design.

Mentored and trained new employees.

Small and veteran team meant serving as my own project manager, writing my own Technical Design documents and scheduling my own time, interfacing with Production, Art and Design.

Full hardware and software skinning animation systems with multiple tracks.

Complete UI and back-end system design and implementation from start to finish for major game features such as the Profession, Character Sheet and Expertise screens.

DirectX with VC++ and shader development using Cg/HLSL.

1 1/2 years at the Client Programmer level before being promoted to Senior Client Programmer.

If it's involved in a Win32/VC++ MMO, then I worked on it.

On the second page of the OBoard thread, one of the posters claimed to have gotten an email from Mr. Hunter clarifying what SWG: Sagas was:

I always love hearing from SWG fans. I haven't worked at SOE for about a year
now. Sagas was an internal project name for a pitch we made to LucasArts for a
sequel (of sorts) to SWG. Unfortunately that particular pitch never really went
anywhere. I doubt SWG will see a sequel that is produced by SOE; I think the spiritual
descendent of the game might end up being the project in production by Bioware Austin,
but as far as that goes I know as much as you.
forums.station.sony.com/swg/posts/list.m My main point for this thread is that "Star Wars: Sagas" sounds suspiciously like the rejected "Star Wars Galaxies: Sagas". I really, really, reeeeeeealy hope the folks at LEC are not so divorced from reality that they would agree to allow SOE mangle a new Star Wars MMO.

Ah my favorite brain soup: cream of no where.

What''s the matter kid, don''t you like clowns?

At this point in time, I wouldn't put sacrificing kittens and puppies on a bloody altar to Satan while having a Necrobestial orgy past Sony....
