"pwned, lol rofl lmao" - some kid |
4 cities not in at release means 66% of the end game won't be in at release, but more importantly, 4 races will not have a hub to meet at high lvl and will be forced to go to other capital cities, creating unnecessary lag and population problem. 2 tank races not in, including the famed orc choppa, means an inflation of players toward certain races with available tank classes. It's disapointing, even tho the honesty of Mythic is great. If the game disappoint aside from those elements cut out, the game will bomb. |

What this says about the game is they are not prepared to ship unfinished content, which of course more than a few companies are more than happy to do. What I want to see is Mythic's time estimate of how long it will be until the cut-from-release features are intended to be added back in, and a commitment that they will be patched in, not sold to players as expansions. |

This actually balances the game out with the cuts. You can see by the guild section that destruction is the most popular. If you take a look at WoW Horde was the most popular and it gave them advantage when raiding Cities. ( Only 2 cities in WoW were it actually had people in it) With this in mind this cuts the destruction advantage with there numbers when raiding a Order city by allowing the low population of order to concentrate on one City and allowing them to defend it without being worried about another city being raided. The class cuts i don't know what to think. I guess some were unbalanced.

You have to be looking at things through a pretty rosey set of glasses to come to that conclusion. More than half of the RvR is cut, so that is unfinished elements being pushed to live just to meet a deadline. Additionally, several races are incomplete and unfinished but also being pushed to live to meet a deadling.

Why would you take thier word for such a thing anyways? If in 5 years of development, without the pressures and issues of a live game, they couldn't get it out then how can they get mroe stuff out in live? |

I think to say that the latest developments really say anything about the game other than what has been directly stated is presumptious. The only people who really know what the game is like are the developers and the testers. |

Now in order to meet an arbitrary deadline it gets cut - it isn't assuming to read that this means finishing is less important than meeting a deadline. And as I said before, if it was just a case of weeks or a month away from being done they would certainly delay as right now I think they only have committed to Q4 not a date certain - obviously, to make an announced cut like this it must be a long way from being done.
It really takes little assumption and no reading between the lines to see that the focus at mythic is on shipping a product by a date certain, not on building the game to the point that it is ready for release and then shipping it. The former scenario of those should be a huge red flag and gamer knows to avoid. |
