I will admit to not following development of this game much at all, until recently as I have a friend very anxious for it to come out. But as I see the boards here and elsewhere lighting up in the wake of the news about the content/feature cuts I see something not being discussed. What does this say for the whole of the game in terms of where it is developmentally? It seems to me the big story is not that this stuff is being cut but that the game is so underdeveloped at this point that it hasn't already had them done and undergoing polish and balancing preparing for release. And what about the stuff that makes it in, are we to believe they are polished and balanced to any reasonable degree given that they where implemented and developed with these other features planned but never implemented? It seems to me this is a much more serious indicator of a game headed for trouble than the loss of a bit of content and features would indicate. |

I'm not sure I understand the connection between the state of cities and any other game system. You could just as easily say that cities were unfinished because they spent so much time polishing the other systems. There really is nothing to suggest that anything else is in bad shape. Unless you know something everyone else doesn't. It would be like judging a race of people based on how a single member acts. What do they have to do with eachother? |

All I have to say is wait for more announcements before jumping to the conclusion that Mythic will be cutting more, and also give the game a try before dismissing it altogether. |

It isn't finished. They are releasing it early just like every MMO that has ever been released besides to some degree WoW. They should push it back me thinks, but if they can pull it off bravo. Otherwise they will get exactly what they put in. |

I guess what I am saying is finding out from the contractor that he had to cut putting in ceiling fans in order to meet a deadline leaves me disappointed - finding out he has cut installing a roof or windows in order to make a deadline has me seriously questioning the possible quality of everything. Admittedly, I am no big expert on WAR - am am reading through the filters of friends and reports on these cuts. Nevertheless, it seems obvious this is not the usual 'we will patch in the high end stuff after release' time save cuts but something much deeper and more meaningful in terms of the overall game.
P.S. In my reading of things i see them saying these things are cut from the game more than I see the typical 'they are not goign to make release but will be patche din soon after BS'. So one has to ask how long it will be before these elements get put in, if ever. |

The king and the pawn go back to the same box at the end of the day. |
Professional's and Experienced, that is what it says about its creators. Good show imo. |

I got so much |
At this point in tiume , the game should be finished graphically. All the animations , sounds , meshes and textures should be at least at 99%. Classes should be ready and done , including all the skills. Rest of the time should be spend testing...
Instead they are junking 4 classes. And most of player cities. That sounds like problems to me.... |

They didn't "lose" any features, they decided to hold off the creation of the other four capitols so that they could spend more time making them into something on the same level as Altdorf / Inevitable City. The classes were cut because they may have had trouble finding ways to make the new mechanics work, or just spent too much time elsewhere. Regardless there are still 20 classes to choose from. They did not "cut" and they did not "lose" any features. They are postponing content not until it is fully created but until it looks fantastic. Mark Jacobs will let half-assed classes or cities out at launch. No, this does not imply that WAR is a game on the road to disaster. It is a game on the road to excellence.

I think they did a bad choice with classes being cut. I for one loved all the classes in daoc even though some where pretty much the same (like bm/merc in the start). Just copy some other dps class and rename the abilities, its way better than haveing fewer potions. :( |
