i'm really surprised about all the complaining being done over 4 cities. so we lost 4 cities...the 2 that will be in game will have double the content that they had originally planned. I see it as a win/win situation. In order for mythic to keep the other 4 cities on par they will have 2 choices:

1) lower the content of the original cities since they said themselves they will have double the amount things available from the way it was originally planned when they thought 6 cities were going to be released.

2) raise the standards for the other 4 cities so that they aren't  over shadowed by the content avaialble in the 2 cities that are expected out at release.

..the best part of 2 major cities for now is that with the lost of 2 classes per faction finding a replacement class from another race will be that much faster and easier.

players worry too much about bad stuff and not look at what the game still as to offer

I think them telling us that the cities and the classes aren't ready was excellent communication.

I also think that launching without this content, that they have been touting and talking about (along with race/faction balance) for so long, will truly hurt the game in a big way.

It won't destroy WAR, but it will absolutely drag all the AoC negativity over here 10x more than it was before. And it will make players that were believers in Mythic and WAR start to question their beliefs.

Horrible decision on Mythic's part, in my opinion. Push it back and do it right the FIRST time, while you still can. If you don't, you "released early" when content wasn't finished and the game wasn't ready. That's definitely a Funcom-style move.

and if they push back it will cause even more havok amongst the community.  Its been pushed back too much already..

the game doesnt actually *need* these things to be a fully functional game - I hope they have everything else polished.  Provided it is a polished game despite these cutbacks, it is not going the funcom route - and if you feel the game really needs the extra classes and cities, then I suppose you wait before purchasing.  Theyre being open and honest.

Personally, I wouldnt have dropped the classes though..  just the cities.

give me 1 example of a pushback that ruined a mmo (that was later released)!! Just one..

While you may WANT it to release now a pushback is only healthy. The more pushback the more content you can polish and fit in..

I on the other hand can give you numerous examples of too early releases... Pirates what?? Tabula huh?

AoC which?

all these are forgotten in a year...

While I respect Mythic for the early info, I personally believe it would be better to push WAR into 2009 then drop Four cities and classes.

I want WAR to succeed, believe me i do.

I'm sorry but i wont be subbing until all 6 cities are functional and four dropped classes are back in.

If it takes till Christmas 2009 so be it.

I know you guys are dying to play the game but seriously i would rather it stay in beta longer so we get all the content.

Poll:

Mythic is going the Funcom route..

I have had it with mmo companies !!!!!!!!!

WRONG.

The Funcom route was promising you PvP leveling, Drunken Brawling, Guild City NPCs, and so on.  And then after buying the game, none of those promises are even in game!

Right now if they decide to delay the game, it will be a RELIEF for the community. Especially now that they see what the alternative is.

I laughed a little at your comment about the game not needing these things to be fully functional. It obviously will NOT be fully functional. It will release with JUST enough stuff to function my friend. Just enough to technically still fulfill its ulterior purpose.

People are going to play and realize how bare bones it really is. They need to push back the game.

No, not more delays..  providing the game itself is polished I do not mind losing 4 cities and 4 classes.

Why dont you pretend the game has not released when it does release and just wait until the content is added later before purchasing the product?

That way everyone wins!

some of you guys make me laugh...seriously they dropped 2 classes per realm and 4 of the 6 cities. its not game breaking by any means. We get 1 city each with double the content of what they originally planned for each city. Also with one major city it will make finding that tank or dps character that much easier.

this is a huge step in that direction.. and we dont know what else will be cut before release..
