I have no idea how far along cities are, and if they would be useless in launch or not, but I DO know that you can have classes that aren't great at launch.

thats right I said it.  give me my broken classes, I LOVE them, no one plays them because they are underpowered so I get to be different for awhile till they are fixed.  I don't care if I'm at a disadvantage when it comes to PVP, I like being the underdog, so give me my choppa and KoTBS and even a silly hammerer.

The news about the cities is pretty sad to me, but the classes thing is what really gets me.

Well, just think of it this way.  At least they aren't trying to make these classes fit in after release and end up cutting them.  Plus, it will make the game a lot easier for Mythic to balance out between the classes.

Those who do not remember the past are condemned to repeat it.

i knew some thing big was coming today ... i in no way expected this !

anyway , for all that are upseyt about the citys , all i can say is that most beta testers agree with this move . the removal of classes ... a very big concern for many different reasons .

Really hate to see games being rush out just because  some people  want their money now!!!!

Do you really blame them though?  Its VERY expensive to keep a game in its developmental stages beyond a certain point in time.

If someone didn't rush a game out the door how many Darkfalls would we have flying around?

They should not have over hyped and over marketed the game before they knew if the features they were displaying could make it in game.  They brought all of this backlash on themselves.

While i am disappointed at this news.  My feelings.

1. I'd rather have 2 amazing cities, that are truely everything a capitol should be.  Rather than 6 mediocre cities which are just shells of what is possible, and nobody would be happy with that either.  But i do agree that it is sorta a drain on the other campaigns, why bother playing in them if all your gonna get is a blank ending?

2. The classes... Heres where I have the most mixed feelings.  While i admit that I'd rather have a good set of classes(they might even change which class is going into those roles(hence the "iconic" statement in the post). then poor ones.  The fact that 2 tanks are missing are gonna be a killing blow to those campaigns... A lot of PQ's and the like really need a tank to handle.  I guess the MDPS are gonna be tanking, let's just hope theres enough healers to fill up instead of tanks.

3. Why not just delay.  Because there is no gaurantee to the date of a delay.

a. How long will it take them to perfect the other 4 cities?

b. How long will it take to redesign the 4 classes, possibly even 4 new ones?

I don't really know.  Neither do you.  But i bet mythic does, and All games do have to release eventually.  So i bet Mythic just looked at the situation and decided that they have to release because the time to finish the other stuff will take too long in a realistic scale.

^^^^^

to the poster above me. 20 classes, and still 18 zones and 2 main cities

That's a lot of content, methinks your just a bit too spoiled.

I couldnt believe they never think thru why they wana implement these class in the first place apart from other class. Now they just cut it because they don't have enough time? Hvn't they learn anything from mmo history and most recently AoC?

They hype this game so much, all the classes etc and now this?

sign...... Will still choose greenskin, but quite lost now....

I will always vote for fewer things done well over more things done poorly.

If you disagree, you should go back in time and play launch versions of Vanguard and Horizons.

Yes I agree but I just wanted to point out that Mythic had to choose between 6 capital cities with the original tier system or 2 with an alternate tier system. Since they chose the latter, the Orc/Dwarf and Elf campaigns won't be worthless. They will tie in to the control of Altdorf and I.C. somehow, because Mythic wouldn't leave it half-finished like that.

OH so you would rather have a AOC, and not tell you and then buy it. They are being upfront about it and compensatiing as far as the cities are going to make then even better. So it comes down to now Would you like 6 small cities at launch or 2 HUGE CITIES at launch and more HUGE CITIES coming in .

It might work out in your benefit you may be OH MAN THIS 1 IS SO COOL , then you go im a bit tired of this one . then oh look 2 other HUGE CITIES IN A PATCH. and i know this is gonna happen i know im gonna hear the " MAN LOOK HOW MUCH
