My head is spinning uncontrollably. The person I though to be one of my best friends turned out to be an idiot who didn't think computerised at all. He got a daughter who he brainwash to be a freaking racist and a dog he beat the hell outta. Sounds like a nice person??? NO! He is a grade A asshole.

Problem is, I known the person since like forever, and I dont know how to get rid of the asswipe!...This time I left the party we had together. Cant say I regret it. He almost got me to tears, the idiot. I cant, for the life of me figure out why I still hang out with the asshole. I like his brother though. Been friends with him since I was a preteen. We got a common interest in computers, cv games and writing, which his brother look down on ofcourse, been working together in music since I was a kid almost.

His brother got a troubled childhood. He got beaten by his adopted parents and hate em today. He grown up with abusive adopted parents and took up boxing to get a relief of his inbound agner. Even today, when he got a nice car, ok house, a daughter at 14, life partner at 33 and a good job in the traffic apartment he still get to be an asshole. I should really quit hanging about with the idiot, but my best friend is his brother, so what can I do?

well i have never had such a problem as i pick my friends fairly carefully.  any assholes i meet i brush to one side and move on.

if he is such a jerk then maybe you should slowly phase him out.  find a new friend and spend less and less time with the other guy.  hang out with the brother instead of the jerk and avoid any uncomfortable situations with the jerk.

sigh...easier said than done. I get your logic about phasing out bad company. My problem is, I known the person since like forever and its really hard to quit hanging out with him since his brother is my best friend. Oh well, its my problem anyway. Right now I'm feeling kinda angry since he ruined my night with his asshole opinions. He actually thought his sisters kids where spoiled beyond belief and repair, since the oldest kid she got listen to black metal and he influenced his siblings, and he in turn got influenced by his uncle, which is the best friend of mine I mentioned in my first post. Dont know why I bothered you people with this in the first place but...bleh. Intoxication, mild though, make its rulings, yeah  ?

anyway as long as the brother does not live with the jerk then i dont see too much of a problem with phasing the guy out.  as for the other (complicated stuff) i wont even go there.  i am Australian and that sounds a lot like something only an American would know about/how to fix it.

Drink lots of water, and take two alkseltzer and a couple of paracetemol.

Then make the fabled statement 'I am never going to drink again'!

I was in the same boat. My best friend ended up being a backstabbing bigot. I tried for years to educate him about not being racist, but in the end, he never changed. I stopped calling him, but years later he would still call me. I finally had to change my number and write him out of my life.

Because his brother is your best friend you can't do that as easily. My suggestion is to just talk to him as little as possible, ignore his ignorant comments, and don't initiate things with him. If he keeps calling you and asking you to do stuff, just make up excuses and eventually he will take the hint. This way he stops bothering you and you can still maintain a friendship with his brother.
