How come blacks like Jeremiah Wright and Jesse Jackson are trying to hurt Barack Obama's chances of becoming president?

With PvE raiding it has never been a question of being "good enough". I play games to have fun, not to be a simpering toady sitting through hour after hour of mind numbing boredom and fauning over a guild master in the hopes that he will condescend to reward me with shiny bits of loot. But in games where those people get the highest progression anyone who doesn't do that will just be a moving target for them and I'll be damned if I'm going to pay money for the privelege. - Neanderthal

It is not the government's business to get involved with parenting, sure what he advocates isn't neccessarily harmful, but its up to the parents to decide whats best for their children, not him.

I mean come on, hes basically saying he knows how to be a better parent than everyone. Newsflash, its ok if parents let their children play video games every now and then and dream of being a rap/rockstar or movie star. They are just kids, let them dream for the time being, they will realize sooner or later on their own that it is probably not a feasible dream.

Advocating kids stick in school is a good thing, but telling them to give up on their dreams?

I can definitely see how Jesse Jackson feels he was talking down to black people.

Translation: idiot reverend has problems with a president who encourages people to not become whitetrash (or...blacktrash?...*shrugs*). I have a lot of respect for this guy because of his stance on parenting. He is right when he says that kids should not encouraged to try to become rap stars. When a kid wants to become one he spends a lot less time at school and a lot more time on the streets trying to get some 'street cred' with his 'posse'. It's fucking disgusting.

I also like Obama because he mroe or less told the African Americans that they can no longer use their past (e.g. slaves) as an excuse. Obama is, after all, living proof that black people can accomplish anything in American society now. All they need to do is work hard. Every time a left-wing politicion steps up I'm always afraid that he/she is yet another minion of political correctness. Obama has proved that he is not that by treating all races equally.

I''m No Sellout

playa hating?

i heard jesse jackson wants to cut obamas nuts off. that is a direct quote...i heard he said even more harsher things than this that cnn refused to air.

im not sure why the rev. jackson would use such words. perhaps its becoming clear that obama is a fake.maybe he feels obama aint down with the brothers.

maybe it takes controversy to get in the limelight. him and al sharpton thrive off of hate. not enough white on black hate?

maybe he dont like obama. maybe he would vote for ANYTHING black- regardless if he agrees or disagrees with the personality. (is that a form of racism? to vote because of color of skin?)

this wont hurt obamas campaign in the least. he will secure the 90% black vote, the guilty feeling white vote-and kooky vote(liberal)

Yes, let the black kids dream of becoming pimp gangsta rap stars.  Nothing could be better parenting.

That is not exactly the point. Every kid dreams of being some career when they are young, whether its to be a singer, actor, professional basketball player, etc.

Why not let them dream when they are young? It is not harmful, and as they grow older they usually realize that such a career is not suitable for them.

If they start acting inappropriately and start acting like "pimp gangsta rap stars" when they are older, then of course parents should step in, but it is also the parents duty to prevent such material from affecting them at such a young age, not the governments duty.

My main grief is, why ruin a child's dream so early on. Let them dream for the time being of becoming famous as a singer or athelete. Not all kids need such a strict upbringing.

I do agree with him advocating kids stay in school, just I think he should leave parenting to the parents.
