I agree.  The environment looks okay but the mobs look like total .

In an attempt to be constructive  I think the following could do with work:

1) Grass overlapping Village Path

2) Wood texture repeated on Village Path

3) Trolls look a bit odd, maybe it's how they're standing

4) Rows of grass on the same screenshot

5) Verandah stone building and roof

Hats off to them for succeeding with an independent MMO though!

This is actually a roma victor/a tale in the desert done right.

Build town just to have horde of barbarians crush it and loot your city/you dry if you dont secure your back.

The graphics are sucky but the world is huge, the map is literally so big you could have ten thousand people on same time and it would still feel empty. But the gameplay is pretty solid and this is every sandbox fans wet dream.

As Ive commented before here, the gameplay consists of grinding to level crafting skills, grinding to craft, then grinding to keep your crafted items in a usable condition. Plus a big map dosent make a good game!

Wurm Online has a LOT of potential, just needs more development motivation and a lot less grind

Don't complain about the graphics! The graphics are better than the gameplay!

Seems like wurm is what sandbox liberals point to as evidence that sandbox can work, and what sandbox conservatives point to as evidence of the difficulty in making a sandbox game actually good.

Make a WORLD,
Not a Game.

Ignore the peasant rabble, whose idea of a good 'mmog' is RuneScape.

You speak as though there are no successful sandbox games out there.    Where have you been, in the dark ages?  Eve is doing quite well, even some of the old sandbox games are still out there like UO and AC1.

Just because no one has made a new one recently, does not mean they are dreadfully hard to make, just that investors like the safety of a Wow clone more often than not.

Gameplay to me is what makes or breaks a game, graphics do not have to be top notch.

I think they could have picked a better name though, whoever came up with the name was not having a brilliant day.

It was more fun a while ago in early beta. Was simpler and fun. Easy to go out with a couple of buddies and build your own little place in the woods by yourself, until a cow with the name of bear wandered into your little village, trapped you and your friends in a building, and proceeds to rip the door down. Armed with only wood planks and shovels we proceeded to be massacred. A lot of good times it was.
