I was bored from reading so many forum threads, then I cam across the thread titled "WoW movie" where they poll if you would like to see a WoW movie. Me? Meh, I'm on the fence personally, I'm VERY picky about which movies to see and what I consider a good movie (comes with the territory of being a film student/independent film maker) but in any case, I digress. Whether I want to see it or not, I just wanted to make a quick post and ask who/what actors you'd like to see portray which characters in WoW or races. If you can post pics/photoshops to help facilitate that'd be nice. P.S. this is just a thread for fun so don't try and take this thread TOO seriously ok? ok then, go at it. __________________________________________________________________________________________ |

I'd like to see a CG World of Warcraft movie. Blizzard makes very good CG sequences, so something similar to their CG in-game, except extended over a whole movie would be great. Or barring that, I'd like to see Vin Diesel as Thrall, lol. |

A WOW movie should have William Shatner, Robin Williams, and Paris Hilton; they're about as serious a cast as WOW is a game. Oh, and it'd be a Comedy... of Errors. |

I'm not a total master on this but they should stay the hell away from it.. Look at the Final Fantasy movie, it was no more then mediocre and a lot of people were let down and so on and so on.. Advent Children was cool tho imo, but more the Extra feature disc then the movie ;) hehe but for non-FF gamers I dont think its any good at all.. Me and a couple of friends watched not long ago, and they didnt really liked it. Even Max payne is supposed to be quite the bugger from what I heard.. Tomg Raider is the only movie of a game, that actually had quite some succes, as I can remember just off the top of my head.. |

I don't know if people outside the WoW community would take the cartoony aspect very seriously if it modeled it exactly.

I think if a wow movie was ever made it would have to take place in the lore thats not present in the game. Like the orcs struggle in the outlands which is suppose to have taken place before game release. I think it would be a very hard movie to make. Especially when trying to incorporate all the races and classes, it would be a nightmare to produce. Imo I give no mercy |

Alas, movies based on games have a strong tendency to seriously blow. I think they'd be best to fill the major speaking parts with unknowns, and not have it as a vehicle for established stars. Of course, I would not object to some cameos by say Mr. T and William Shatner. CH, Jedi, Commando, Smuggler, BH, Scout, Doctor, Chef, BE...yeah, lots of SWG time invested. Once a denizen of Ahazi |

I disagree. Chuck Norris would be the perfect female night elf. He's certainly burly enough. |

Maybe they should use the director, writer, cast, and crew of the "Dungeons and Dragons" movie that came out a few years ago. At least those folks have got to be veterans by now when it comes to making a fantasy movie. |

As long as Samuel L. Jackson is in it, it will be great. |

The WoW movie has been in the works for some time now. Last I heard they're having a hard time with getting the right studio, among other things. But they have said it's going to be a new story, seprit from the games or book, but still takes place completely in the world of Warcraft. They were saying it's going to be completely done in CGI, but I'm not sure if thats still the case, I can only hope it is though. Doing the Warcraft movie as live action and Blizz sitting there with all the CGI talent behind them would just be stupid. Even if it wont be the actually Blizz team doing the animation, still a totally horrable idea.
On a side note, to all the posts about Samuel L. Jackson, he just signed on to star in 9, yes count them a wopping 9! Marvel films as Nick Fury, woot! >_< |
