I'm trying to decide some classes to pick for AoC to play.  When I use to play EQ, I had a wizard but then switched over to trying out a warrior and a SK and finally making my SK my main.  In Diablo 2, my favorite class was the barbarian.  From my very little time with WoW, I played a rogue but I believe I was starting to have more fun with a necro.  Any class suggestions?

Classes in AOC

Soldiers:  Guardian, Conqueror, Dark Templar (heavily armoured melee)

Rogues:  Barbarian, Ranger, Assassin (melee dps with sneaking)

Mage:  Necromancer, Demonologist, Herald of Xotly (magic using dps)

Priest:  Bear Shaman, Priest of Mistra, Tempest of Set

I've tried all but only taken my guardian to any significant level.  Classes are very different in aoc from what I (background in WOW and LOTRO) am used to eg heals tend to be HoT and apply as a result of an offensive action.  Character targeting isnt exclusive .... if someone else walks past they will get hit too.

I'd stay clear of the soldier class as they seem a little oversubscribed and under powered.  Rogues are fun and stealth is very useful.  The mages are all different.  Necro has lots of pets (at the same tiime).  HoX transforms into a demon for H2H and Deomon seems to stay ranged.  The priests have quite high dps but are squishy if they pull aggro.

I think u need to play each class for a couple of hours and see what you think.

nb the racial differences are entirely cosmetic so simply go for which takes your fancy.

I tried alot of classes until I setteled with Defender. In the end I want to survive longer than the other guy, not kille him faster. I dont know if that made any sence at all..

Like when I was just running around in Barbarian terretory, I meet a qunqueror, he's got his two swords and all and just charges me, im totaly unprepared, so I buff myself quickly and attack back, I am lvl 34 and he's lvl 37, and believe me, one lvl is a big diffrance in AOC.

I win the fight though, he cant seem to wear me down fast enought, but I am all about resistance to, I have 25% minimum on all types of damage, I even have a 32% on blunt immunity.

I Seemyself as a tree with a sword and sheild, I PvE 5-7 gys at a time and the exp is fenomenal.

Defender is really my class.

Hey man, I can appreciate that you're Swedish and English is probably a second language, but a spellcheck would probably make it easier for us to understand what you're getting at.
