Your current players are your foundation for future success. |
who spoke up about their concerns regarding the NGE. I've been reading stuff posted by Jeff Freeman again lately. He very clearly indicates that some devs asked to be transferred to other assignments because they did not like what the NGE was about to do to all the players. Some of you voiced your concerns, and for that I thank you, most sincerely. Thank you for listening to your conscience, and thank you for wanting no part of what became a very hurtful event for a lot of people. Thank you also for not trying to twist the truth before or after the fact. When a mistake is made, it is so much more helpful when people are simply honest about it and apologetic. When the mistake is denied, when history is revised, when people who are hurt are maligned, it really just makes the initial hurt that much worse. Also, things tend to linger on much longer than they would if people had honestly apologized and done their best to make amends. I also want to include Tiggs in this thank you. Thank you for doing your best to speak for the concerns of the community when you were in a very difficult position. I believe this cost you. I also greatly admire your current work on giftsfromgamers.com. Thanks also to Jeff Freeman. I'm not thanking you for your part in the NGE, but I am thanking you for being open and honest with us after the fact. I appreciate that you tried to give us as much information as you could without causing legal problems for yourself or others. I believe you wanted to help us understand, and you did. I also appreciate your sincere apology for your role in events, and I believe that you wouldn't do things the same, if you had the chance to do them over again. I also appreciate your tone of respect when you interacted with us, even though some of us were very hurt and hostile. That was a sign of maturity on your part, and you have both my thanks and respect. So for everyone that tried to stick up for us at various levels, and for those that tried to help ease the hurt afterward, my sincere appreciation. Best wishes to you all, and I hope your colleagues can learn from your example.

Tiggs is doing a great thing with giftsforgamers.com, and she should be commended for it, but the whole 'she stood up for the community and was fired over it' thing is based on a post by a player being misattributed to her. During the NGE flareup, she was in the trenches with the rest of the SOE folks who were doing their damnedest to tell us how great the NGE was, and that the folks who were negative about the NGE were a 'vocal minority'. Nobody who knows the real reason she was fired has made that information public. She may very well have done what you are thanking her for, but there is no evidence to support that. As I said, she has been canonized due to a post by a player being misattributed to her.

Special thanks to SOE for being a blight upon society and certainly existence, i mean come on players in the community strive to be rewarded and acknowledged for there effort , they don't want to be mocked. I mean whether or not we were alive during the showing of the first movies, starwars is a huge monument to creativity and has entertained millions, how could you ruin something so stable, something so good?
May have already posted this- The jest of this is SoE is "The Gay" |

Actually, the reason i think we are seeing more former designers speaking up about the NGE and their role in it is that a large o. of devs were made redundant over at LA recently, and now they have nothing better to do than to distance themselves quickly from the piece of trash that the NGE was and is. Games professionals are beginning to recognise that, thanks to the solid and continuous work by us angry vets, that you don't want the letters 'NGE' on your CV. As for Tiggs, it is true that she was a heavy seller of the NGE - and she downright and deliberately misled the community when amazon.cm prematurely listed the NGE-version of the game. Was she fired because she opposed the NGE on behalf of the community? Or was it because she, like all the other SOE personnel involved, absolutely failed to manage the rage and despair that erupted in the community on the launch of NGE and she was fired because she was the most junior executive who could be sacrified by the higher-ups?
