Age of Conan

It's so funny how almost every post on these boards about AoC is a complaint, a dissatisfaction or a bash - and yet in the game, it's crowded like crazy with lag spikes happening and people everywhere!  Must either be a really good game, or people here are being deceiving and like the game but just complain about it for the hell of it.

Can't wait for WAR to come in Sept to see if those boards become a whiny-fest too..

People wanna be hopeful but Funcom is making it real tough.

You can't ever try to compare the attitude on these forums with the actual attitude of players in game, or the state of a game.

Look at WoW..  People here hate it but it has 10 million subs and towers over any other MMO's success.

Look at Vanguard.. The forums there are all great and would lead you to believe that it is the best game ever and it's on a huge uprise, but in reality it is for the most part a ghost town on most servers, and is still lacking in many ways.  The same applies to EQ2.

Look at Aion.. The forums are filled with posts about it being another asian grinder, and lacking content when in reality it is being modelled largely after WoW with the Quest based progression and PVPVE progression as well.

These forums used to be an awesome place to talk constructively about MMO's.  You know the games we all love.  Now they are filled with drama surrounding the release of every game, and most forums die off by the time they become a reasonable place to discuss game mechanics and the drama is gone.

It's sad but they only way to really judge an MMO anymore is to try it yourself, and figure out what is important to you.  You can at least pull the information needed if you swim through the drama for hours on end to determine if the game is right for you.

Thats why the Funcom share is falling like a stone? Funcom lost alot of players cause the game sucks. I truly feel sorry for the people that still play Age of Conan.

I am sure they need you to feel sorry for them when they are having fun.  Damn poor guys.  Having fun is just such a horrible thing.  Unlike me who gets my fun from trolling forums on the internet and telling people what, and what is not fun.  I'm the coolest.

Rest assured, WAR will suffer from the exact same thing. Even if it's bug-less, people will whine about design decisions. It's just that some persons really need to whine about a product they buy, regardless of the aspect they are whining about. I don't know, I think complaints are healthy until they start being one-liners. Really, all the whiner threads here have some truth to them. The game IS bugged and many things are broken, but it's nothing Funcom can't solve in due time. Of course, some people expect them to FIX IT NOW FOR TOMORROW BECAUSE I WANNA PLAY, but hey, we all know that's just not gonna happen. Read through the good and valid complaints, and leave the ones who are just hating for later.

You feel sorry for people that have fun with games? cause thats what you just said, cause i can not imagine anyone playing a game they dislike. Oh wait certian people seem forced to play these type of games, sorry you where right, i too feel sorry for those who feel forced to play a game they dislike.
