Hello, Here is a useful post from warhammer alliance about how GOA has changed in preperation for WAR, it is a good read for those who may of had bad experiences with GOA from when they played DAOC. It was written by Iain, who i think is GOA's community manager! http://www.warhammeralliance.com/forums/showthread.php?p=925922#post925922 Personally i hope that GOA have shaped up, i didnt have any problems with them from DAOC but i know may people did, hope this helps! Also i think attention should be brought to this quote: "A lot of us who were in Paris sold our houses and uprooted our lives to go to Dublin and make WAR work properly." At least they have guiness to motivate them now! |

I too hope GOA has shaped up, if nothing else for the EU players and the sake of WAR itself. I did find it humorous to hear someone say recently "everyone deserves a second chance" when speaking about GOA. In real life perhaps, but when dealing with MMOG companies or those involved with customer service, it's not always so. Take Dark & Light (DnL) for example - does anyone feel they should get a second chance after all the dishonesty they dished around? Me either. Players are abused and lied to enough by online gaming companies on a daily basis, which makes them very fickle and distrusting (which is understandable). Hopefully GOA does it right this time around, or there may be no third. It does appear they are going to try this time, so we'll see! |

I didn't know about GOA. I didn't understand why everything related to WAR was so crappy in Europe and worked so good in the states. Now I know. These guys are a bunch of inepts. If they are better now than they were before... my god. |

You can either agree with me or be wrong! |
I find it funny that they speak of a second chance when I the bad experiences basically started piling up again with their EU website for WAR and their beta/collector's edition handling.
Second chance has come and gone imo, if this is the improved GOA god help us. |

Things GOA have been accused of mishandling are as follow (by no means an exclusive list) - Login/passwords problems in DAoC - Customer service in DAoC (you could not contact the service in-game, you had to use an obstruse web interface AND there was no 24/7 service, they had about office hours with extended evenings and NO weekend service, really backwards considering those times, ie evenings and weekends, is when most people play...) - Patching. They were responsible to translate the patches from Mythic in the european languages, like french and german but there were delays, sometimes even substantial delays so that EU customers always felt second class citizen as the NA customers already had the shiny new patch toys while we had to wait sometimes several weeks before getting our greedy paws on them. - Beta sign ups problems in WAR - Collector's edition problems in WAR As such, the WAR related problems are relativly minor, as such many people still have hope that when it comes to retail time, GOA will be on the ball. Here is to hope.

Untill a week ago this was my biggest problem with the european rel;ease... GOA..
But, after reading up a lot on the company, its obvious that you can't compare the current GOA with the GOA from 6 years ago..
They have failed with DAoC, and they realise, they have learned from their mistakes and have changed their whole company structure... So when they use their previous experience and improve their service to a level equall or even better then people are used to from other MMO's i guess i think GOA will be a fine choice. The MMO service department has changed over the last 6 years and so has GOA.

Pheace speaks the truth. I've not had bad experience with GOA before but after seeing the EU website and having tried to use it I've slowly lost my belief in them. |

You know i didn not realise our distributors (Im European, I live in Spain) were different than USA ones. However I did realise the USA website for WAR does seem somehow a lot more polished up than the EU one. |
