whether or not it's in the TOS or was, doesn't matter.  it has never been considered sploiting to do anything AFK.

it's never been considered exploiting to afk grind entertainers, for example...something that's been going on since the hologrind started.

the only thing that is considered an exploit is using 3rd party software to run your character as a bot while afk....macroexpress and the like.

Hello,

was curious about all this 5th anniversary nonsense so i logged in.  (free login for vets til the end of July)

So, you have your typical NGE player here:

All he or she has to do is go to these two spots and stand for their badge, not too hard:

was a waste of my morning, but i did it.  now logging out of NGE again for another 10-12 months, if it's around then.

Going AFK was exploiting? Not doing anything except being AFK was exploiting? I must have missed that, because I've gone AFK at one time or another for four years and never been accused of exploiting.

Now you're just being obtuse to try and distract from the fact that you are losing the argument. Either find some valid points or just stop posting.

You're 100% wrong. AFK grinding was always against the rules and you could report people for doing so and a GM would come along and drop a Dark Jedi on the person who was afk or something like that. Then, recently, SOE decided that didn't care enough the game to do anything about afk grinding so they made it "legal".

unattended game play was against the rules in the TOS, but it was hardly ever enforced, unless people cried about it and reported.  most folks AFK grinded thru the hologrind the first year of the game

recently the Devs even have said they dont have the money to pay people to enforce anti-AFK activity, so do as you please. was an actual post by a Dev a few months ago.

nah...you are 100% wrong.  the entertainers have been bitching about this for 4 1/2 years and still there are afk entertainers.  not considered breaking any rules.  never has been.  no dark jedi took out whole cantinas except for player events.  which were amusing but that's beside the point.

yes they announced that it was legal recently, referring to the old method of afk killing meatlumps and the like, however, the entertainer grind was actually labeled as "legal" years ago, much to the dismay of the entertainer community.

basically, they had to make it "legal" because they can't police it and they would have to go back on longstanding policy on the entertainer grind.

you can still report people for it because it is still against the rules to interfere with other people's gameplay but you have to show that their afk grind status is interfering in some way.

Because it was over-looked by moderators doesn't mean it was legal.

If a spawn was camped by an AFK farmer then it was certainly delt with when reported. If the same rule wasn't enforced with entertainers then that was the fault of the moderators not enforcing a rule.

Doing nothing about a rule being broken is different then making it legal.

Exactly. AFK gameplay was always against the rules even though SOE only enforced it randoml
