WAR (Warhammer Online)

I played almost all big MMO's since EQ, and i played DAoC both on US and european servers... Mythics US service was okay.....

But GOA ruined much of the european version for me despite their promisses of special content. Game updates lagged months behind the US game updates, servers where buggy and service was non existent if you didn't speak any french.

And now they will let GOA handle the release of Warhammer online in europe... seriously, if its still the same comapny as 5 years ago, they can't handle it.

Am i the only one that has such negative feelings about GOA?

not at all. You are not alone, I have the same damn doubts.

Yes, Mythic and GOA have sworn on their dead granmothers graves that this time around it will be better ,but we have already seen the GOA's style in the handling of the Beta registrations (that were working in a very arcane and confusing way at start, like requiring user name with 2 capital letters, 2 numbers and 2 lower case letters, same for passwords etc).

I do not trust them, I remember DAoC was FULL of completely backward decisions with NO inexplicable reasons to them ,one for all, you COULD NOT choose your user name or password in EU Daoc, they were auto generated for you and were of course something like "ksvniwefboeuygfesuaf". could not change your password either, just ask for a reset and get another series of those letters.

I hope the game will be good enough for me to look over those decisions and I hope we will not see any of the old GOA's mistakes.

Well I never knew about that company. For what I have seen so far, they suck.

Sounds like a poor (or short sighted) marketing decision to go with GOA again, based on prior experience. Hurting the game in the EU market can't be a good thing for the title worldwide either.

The decision to go with GOA was taken by Mythic before they became a part of EA. Maybe if GOA does a bad enough job about it EA will be able to annul their contract and take over from there, but it would still be very bad for the game.

So this wouldn't be similar at all to how NCsoft NA dealt with Lineage2 would it? months (like.. lots of months) behind Korea on patches, horrible translations, near-useless GMs and leaked code?  if so I feel really sorry for you guys over there... just order a US version and come join us over here.

This is an old topic? for the people that dont like goa or have had a bad experiance with goa( i played DAOC)...dont play war. Why beat yourself up before the game is out,seriously dont bother play if goa effect your life that much.

If you want to talk to a member of the goa staff then go to WHA www.warhammeralliance.com...ianC is always on their. He understands the problems last time and for the last two years on WHA he has said a second chance is allowed ,like most of us on WHA ..we agree.

You can play on a USA server but i prefer european because i come from their, besides europe holds the biggest fan base and will hold the biggest player base.

Unless I can pick a US copy of the game up and play on their servers there's it should be ok. No way I'm dealing with GOA again. So it's either US servers or none at all.
