He sounds like a jerk...

Are you planning on playing games like Age of Conan and Warhammer when they come out?

I've already played Warhammer. It was called World of Warcraft.

Behold! Rash of the Itch King comes in November! Quake in fear!

Don't know or care too much about the man personally, but...

Quote: If you were consulting with Blizzard, what would you tell them? From a high level viewpoint, what are the three or four things that they're doing wrong?

The first thing I would say to them is why is the auction house sell only? Why doesn't it got a buy? Why can't you say I want to buy stuff? You can only say I want to sell stuff. They've made that decision. Why? It's not apparent. I want to know why they've done that, because in knowing why they've done that, that would tell me how they saw the economics – the way the economy was working.

Uhh...I've bought many, many things from the Auction House when I played...maybe he has some abstract meaning, or he's mistaken, yet he says he got 3 characters to 70.

Kind of makes me doubt that he has his facts straight. And I highly doubt he's done any research into Warhammer so I'll quietly disregard his opinion.

he means you can't put up buy orders for stuff.  say... you put up copper at 20s a stack, someone with a stack of copper can find your buy order, and sell it to you.  instead of them putting copper up and you buying it.

its great cause it helps crafters get what they need, is less work for the gatherers.  its bad because it gets filled with LOTS of spam for horribly underpriced items.

The guy is definitely a bonafied idiot.  WOW has zero RvR potential.  WAR is based at least 50% or more on RvR.  Sounds like he never played DAoC, or if he did he didn't bother to read up on Warhammer.

Duh.

Not that I know what he meant, but I think he may be talking about this idea:

You sell items, and you buy from bidding other people's items.  But the auction house doesn't let YOU the buyer to select your price, but the price is on the seller's side... (so you, the buyer, bid on the items for sell, not the seller going after sales by adjust to your, the buyer's, price..)

Again, I read the article, and I think this may be what he meant, but again, I am not sure...

He's a PVE guy. He's the one that got MUDs started and what most MMO's started from (all?).

He's not dumb but he just has no inkling about RVR.

He's also said if he could do one thing he would kill WoW.

Doesnt seem to me he knows jack about the current state of MMOS. He just comes off as an arrogant jerk.
