So has anyone one went onto all the servers yet and actually pulled up how many peeps are online yet on these servers to get a more clear picture how dead this game is now??

I can't say about now.  But when I last subbed in Dec 07 It was lower in pop then  when   BM came out.   the  previous time I tried it.

It was on the Chili  server.   The  most notable pop server increase at the time was the AFK credit spammers outside ME spaceport.

My honest opinion at the time.  Sorry OB.  I do respect that you like your game, but I have to be honest.  Chaulk it up to "now" if you must.  But the game in IMHO has problems from the last time I played.  Although the WS "upgrade"  doesn't look to bad from the last time I played compared to six months ago.  Still not enough to bring me back.

Good luck!!!

It''s "Not that bad"

From the publish notes:

-Click the Search button at the top of the window and the system will return up to 32 players who have marked themselves as searchable and match the criteria you selected. The search order is random and you can search again to get a different set of 32 matches.

So this is really no better than /who. It will give us a slightly better read on server pops, but not much. If there's more than 32 players on (and there will likely be more on most servers) it will truncate just like /who, thus stopping the user from actually finding out the truth.

Um....

How is this really any different from the previously existing search system, that allowed you to filter on the basis of  LFG?  The only addition I see here is you don't have to go into the community menu to start the search.  There's a new button!  Whee!

On my last vet trial, on Ahazi,  I used search often just to see what would happen, and the only time I got more than 10 results back was when I pretty deliberately tried searching in Theed or Mos Eisley, where the entertainers were and where people were getting buffed up.  Otherwise, it was 5-10 results at most, usually no more than five, and I made the search parameters as wide open, unfiltered as possible.  To be fair, I didn't do this around Restuss.  Mostly on Corellia, Naboo, Yavin IV, and Dantooine.  Mind you, Dantooine in holocron farming country.

If I had filtered them for LFG it probably wouldn't have been much more informative...

On Corellia I kept getting a search result back on some guy afk farming meatlumps in Kor Vella.  For three days solid!  He was AFK the entire time!

CH, Jedi, Commando, Smuggler, BH, Scout, Doctor, Chef, BE...yeah, lots of SWG time invested.

Interesting bug as of CH10... looks like /who is now broken.

The conspiracy theorist in me is thinking they did this on purpose in order to always show the maximum amount of players (truncates at 32).

Some on the main boards complaining that the new search tool is truly showing the low server pops are being met with responses such as 'everyone is set to /anon'.

This reaction does not surprise me in the least.  It's an assertion that has a plausible foundation, as many preNGE Jedi/BH war players have probably never taken themselves out of the /anon  mode, nor have many hardcore PvP types.

Of course, the catch in all this is that any search tool that doesn't override a player preference like this is going to be useless for finding those gazillion players who you need to invite to your heroic instance group.
