WAR (Warhammer Online)

Just a simple question, as I'm sure at least a good majority of you know the answer to this:

What exactly is the word on character customization...? I'm having difficulty finding much information on this subject, other than the actual character looks will be similar to what WoW did by using presets. What concerns me is the armor.

Every single screenshot I see shows characters of the same class wearing the same exact armor. Obviously I'm not really following this game enough to know the answer to this, but will characters of the same class have to wear the same armor? Judging by screenshots and descriptions on their main site (when it describes the classes it describes their exact looks) I would think this is true. This game does seem interesting to me, not enough for me to know a huge amount of information on it like some people here, but enough to possibly purchase it. But if I'm going to look like the same character as everyone else... the game would feel very odd to me, and I'm not sure I'd continue playing it. Is it just because armors and clothing designs and the etc. are still under production? Or do they actually plan to have all classes look the same? I'm not sure if that would exactly be the best choice if I was running that department of this game.

Some feedback on this matter would be interesting.

I'm sure different armor will have different looks but each class will have a similar pattern of armor...won't see a Chaos Chosen wearing a skimpy leather outfit...but you can dye your armor and there's the trophy system which allows you to wear different trinkets and things so that you actually look different. Also if you're wearing a very hard to get trophy people will know you mean business (trophies don't add stats either so it's not like everyone will try to get the same one).

There are many, mnay ways to customize your chars.

A: Warhammer Online is going to have armor dyes as a customization option. In an ealier podcast, Jeff Hickman mentioned that these would probably be relegated to colors normally attributed to armor. Also, in recent interviews it has been stated that you'll be able to get trophies to hang from your armor. In a recent entry in Paul Barrnett's blog, he mentions that there will be a sizeable amount of facial customization as well.
 

Also i can t remember the number but there are alot of armour sets for each class, throughout their levels. The nice thing about the armour dye is it s layered, so if you played DAOC you ll know what thats like:)

So as we know so far we're only going to be able to change the colors and add a few trinkets here and there?

I guess I'm going to have to wait and see for myself at release... don't think I'll get it that early, going to be too buggy for me to care, but youtube is always the solution

thanks for the links, they were helpful, answered all my questions on this topic. Also good to know that they'll be using a better graphics engine than what I've seen... big relief, at least it now looks a little bit more decent than what I have original seen.
